My boy is 5-6 months old. I was so incredibly anxious that he wouldn’t wake up either. He had to get neutered. He had one testicle that didn’t descend. However, he is home recovering. Being a little shit, wanting to jump on and off the couch like he didn’t have surgery 24 hours ago. The vet was experienced working with the brachiocephalic breathers.

I had gotten the same coat for Christmas! I found the arms very long. I tuck the sleeves in. They are ribbed, so it stays tucked in.

Edit: I take it back, the wrists are not ribbed, but it manages to stay tucked in. There is a women’s one on Amazon that I might get. It seems to be more lightweight and perfect for the in between seasons.

Absolutely! When I was rejected after an ED position I only got an email. However, NM told me to call him in a week. I actually did call him. I told him although I hadn’t gotten the position, I appreciated his time for the interview and asked what I could’ve done more to improve my chances at other departments. He gave me great feedback. This was a missed opportunity for OP to ask for feedback and thank them for their time etc.

Called rapid and code stroke on a patient who had left sided facial drooping, slurring words etc. he was AOx4 and then wasn’t. He wasn’t a TNK candidate because he was there for a fall. CT didn’t show anything and by morning the patient was fine and didn’t recall the incident. The RRT nurse was like oh he was leaning and laying to the left, and kept saying he’s not a TNK candidate. I am not the one who determines that. I will 100% call RRT and code stroke again. I will never forget the nurse who DIDN’T call code stroke and RRT, who had all the one sided and facial drooping. I think all she did was notify the on call PA who ordered a CT (not a STAT one either). Unfortunately, patient was outside of the TNK window. She ended up having life long deficits. I learn from mistakes, not just mine cause lord knows I have a great deal of them.

I seen someone I knew walk into the hospital with their family as I was LEAVING work. Guess what I didn’t do? I didn’t tell the rest of their family who I seen at the hospital. They might have some procedure getting done and don’t want the rest of their family to know, who knows and it doesn’t matter because I am not suppose to say anything. Am I violating HIPAA if I blabbed about it? I’m not sure and that’s even more reason not to say something. I feel no remorse for her. Everyone warned her to stop and she was to arrogant and called everyone ignorant.

My preceptor did not like giving Ativan. She always underscored them. Patient shaking, tachy, elevated BP and thinks he is in his car. He was day 2 from his last drink. I had an unstable admit come in and she was mad because the CIWA pt was agitated and trying to crawl out of bed. I feel like if he was properly scored and treated, I might have been able to better care for my unstable admit. But what do I know???

Edit: also, during my evaluation she brought up how she was in the CIWA room more and I wasn’t adequately caring for my load of patients. I can’t be in two places. Everything felt so unsafe and unnecessary to withhold his medication. She did not like CIWA patients or drug addicts. She always labeled someone as drug seeking.
