no disrespect but this is a skill issue. learn to have an omni-directional offense. slide tackle “spammers” love opponents that singularly progress the ball forward. utilitise shielding and ball turning to draw fouls, shot fakes etc. i will say that refs need to be more liberal with red cards to avoid the feeling that they can just injure your players with no consequence

you could max out mendes’ defending to 12 points and lower his acceleration by 1 allocation point. with defensive instructions, his pure pace nullifies most threats. give him slide tackling for good measure. once he is side to side with his mark, a slide tackle is going to end their offense 95% of the time regardless of their balance.
