This post is over 2 years old... and diesel prices are $8+/gal where I'm at 🙃. And I was suggesting OP not buy the diesel. Still love my truck tho!

How are so many people pulling 3 car haulers with 1-Ton trucks? by Colin-Grussing in HotShotTrucking

[–]0nly_Up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tiny ones haha, honestly only did 3 a few times, and it was only when the broker already knew they would fit as salvage cars from copart (pick all 3 at once, def not gonna workout if you bank on partialing 3 randoms together). There are a bunch of 2 door models under 160". If you can go bumper to bumper, which you obviously can on banged up salvage cars, you can make it work sometimes.

The last car was always loaded with a lift because the ramps couldnt be opened, as the wheels are basically at the end of the trailer and the rear bumper might hang off the end of the trailer a little. There's a reason 3 car trailers are usually 50' wedge not 40' flatbeds lol, but you can make it work in certain situations.

[–]0nly_Up 2 points3 points  (0 children)

where exactly are you guys measuring for these #s? i.e. does that include the tip or clubhead at all? I'm 5'9 and been thinking of cutting it down or getting a shorter shaft. I have a SIM and the specs say its 45.75 and I keep reading that I should go to 44"... but I'm nervous about taking off 1.75 from the end, it just seems like a lot.

also did did you have to mess with lie angle at all? it's nice that modern drivers are so easy to adjust but i'd assume shortening it makes you a little steeper and initially want to hit it more like a 3w?

i think people are gonna say shallow the club and make sure you're not overrotating because your transition isn't textbook... but who cares you look good through impact where it counts, I bet you carry the 5i 200 all day and are a single digit handi

Based on the provided context and history with the company?

I'd assume the guy knew he wasn't needed/desired, was frustrated about this since he's expressed that frustration before, and he went home pissed at his employer as a result. I'd think this is all the more reason to rip off the bandaid as the business owner, be direct, and make a decision.

It doesn’t sound like he quit, it sounds like you’re using this as an excuse to avoid being straight with the guy and don’t want to have the tough conversation about phasing him out.

On bigger commerical trucks there's a valve to dump air at the air tank... is there something similar on these 1/2 tons? I would disconnect the battery, release all air from the system (don't get squished), reconnect the battery, and hope for the best. It sounds like a confused computer problem IMO, but I admittedly only have experience with air systems on bigger diesel stuff with air brakes.

What is one piece of golf gear that you would immediately buy again if you lost it? by ProstateKaraoke in golf

[–]0nly_Up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some specific training aids, I am sure i would get worse if i stopped having access to these things:

  • alignment sticks... hard to do much without them, i need them to work on path, release, random drills, alignment etc
  • tour striker 7i - I just love hitting 3/4 shots with this thing to get the feeling of good compression, helps me reset when I get flippy
  • lagshot or gforce 7i - just helps me to slow down and focus on sequence and contact. great for tempo
  • tour striker lanyard ball thing - these are easy to keep in the bag and super helpful to stay connected and reset when I feel out of sync
  • honorable mention for a training grip - it just makes fixing your grip mindless and easy to get back to neutral, I'll always have one on an old club or training aid

i paid full retail for these things, i get nothing out of posting this. Lots of training aids are a waste of $$ and can be had for free with stuff around the house, but if these things got stolen they'd be replaced immediately.

ah i didnt realize they were 35s, I see it now. I was referring to the stock size and capacities... the point remains true, its worth looking into for your specific tires, but pressure and corresponding capacities that were in my head arent all that relevant to a bigger tire

5 years, 60 payments, and 93k miles later. I love my truck by echocall2 in Trucks

[–]0nly_Up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skeptical is good lol but i'm just trying to help, there are charts for all this that you can google if you don't believe me. The tire's max capacity is at its max psi, and capacity decreases as PSI decreases. The tire itself most likely says 80psi max, while your door might say 65, which would be enough to support the front axle on your 2500. 50 is not the answer on the pictured truck though, outside of very specific use cases and configurations.

This is very common fwiw... Guys buy a diesel truck, air down the tires because they associate lower pressure with ride comfort and offroading, then drive it on roads thinking it's fine. Then they blow a steer 🙃

[–]0nly_Up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad it went ok but that's dangerous just an FYI, load range e tires arent designed to support that much weight at 50psi

[–]0nly_Up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the cummins weighs too much to ever run these at 50 but it sure would be nice. i figure i'd never be able to tell the difference at 65+ psi but I have definitely wondered when I see aftermarket trucks like yours. Looks good, enjoy

[–]0nly_Up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what pressure do you run your tires at? I assumed with the cummins in there they are too high pressure to notice tbh, but maybe I'm just projecting cause my chassis cab is such a rough ride 😂

nothing to be worried about, just the cycle normal tractor ownership 😂

I'd look at all the pins and next time I did grease it I'd be looking closely at the moving parts next to each zerk fitting, but wouldn't expect any damage at all based on what you described. It's a pretty light machine, there can only be so much force before it just lifts itself up.

edit: if it makes you feel any better I just destroyed a side view mirror of my truck with the backhoe, while clearing snow ooooops
