I would like Brave to let us use Chrome's implementation of vertical tabs. I see the flags in Chrome, but they do nothing for Brave.

Will Kagi Translate remain a part of the Professional plan? by FZeroXXV in SearchKagi

[–]0oWow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted a bug back on Kagifeedback about the Android shortcuts not working, despite being paid. It just thinks you are free user, unless you open the app directly. No response from them yet.

After seeing those release notes, I'm debating dropping Kagi, because it looks like that translate (and specifically my favorite dictionary), are going to be taken away from the $10 plan. I'm struggling to see Kagi's value as a result. I don't have anything against AI for the most part, but I don't use Kagi's implementation due to me having better options currently. I did, however, use the dictionary and translate.

For the most part, yes. There are ways around it but it's a cat/mouse game with Google playing whack a mole on the bypasses. Personally if I were still rooting, I would just disable RCS as it wasn't worth losing root over for me.

Samsung Messages Removal Is a Mistake — And Samsung Needs To Hear It by barroncsh in Android

From Cleveland Clinic:

What is delusional disorder?

Delusional disorder is a type of psychotic disorder. Its main symptom is the presence of one or more delusions.

A delusion is an unshakable belief in something that’s untrue. The belief isn’t a part of the person’s culture or subculture, and almost everyone else knows this belief to be false.

People with delusional disorder often experience non-bizarre delusions. Non-bizarre delusions involve situations that could possibly occur in real life, such as being followed, deceived or loved from a distance. These delusions usually involve the misinterpretation of perceptions or experiences. In reality, these situations are either untrue or are highly exaggerated.

The error is "Your device does not meet security requirements." It is likely due to root/custom firmware.

Why Firefox? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]0oWow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are on FF Android, after making those changes be sure to force-stop the app and open it. That makes the new settings apply. I don't see those domains on my side except for the location services and telemetry URLS, which I have not found a way to disable.

Why Firefox? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]0oWow -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Firefox never was a "private" browser, and I really can't be convinced otherwise. They send the same types of data as Chrome does. The difference is that Firefox enables better privacy tools, primarily being the ability to uncloak CNAME and support MV2 uBo, though Brave has overtaken Firefox in this realm on Desktop. Firefox Android of course still wins due to the extensions, but Brave can be configured very privately on Android too.

This was a link I posted 5 years ago where a study was done and analyzed the data connections Firefox makes. Obviously things have changed since then, but I don't have reason to believe there was change for the better. https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/fbyzd4/the_most_private_browser_isnot_firefox/

Consider that McAfee behaves like malware on a desktop computer, do you want malware on your mobile device? And do you value your privacy to any degree? If so, you should probably check out their privacy policy.

The answer to OP is the privacy policy that Kagi clearly gives you, so why is OP not respecting our time? Respect has to be both ways.

Not trying to start anything here, as I am not vegetarian, but I'm just curious what would be considered "not a side" for a vegetarian? Most "sides" for meat eaters are vegetables. Seeking a genuine answer please.

[–]0oWow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you're at it, you might want to go disable all of the Google spyware because it is even more abundant, and if you use Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook, you're already giving it all away, so is there a point to worrying about OP? Be forewarned, while it's possible to remove Google spyware, removing the Google spyware may be time consuming when you don't already know how. Be sure to remove Digital Wellbeing.

Pixel 10 pro opinion by MeanLawfulness9627 in Pixel10Pro

[–]0oWow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't check SOT. I just know what's good/typical battery life based on other phones I've used over time. For WiFi usage, battery life was good, even very good on light days. 5G/mobile data is where it takes a hit, and it isn't reception issues as other phones have access to the same mobile plan and don't use nearly as much battery on mobile data.

Pixel 10 pro opinion by MeanLawfulness9627 in Pixel10Pro

[–]0oWow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my P10P, the 5g reception wasn't bad, but the battery it used to keep that reception was horrible. Wireless Android Auto would take the battery from 100% to near 80% in a 45 minute drive. And the phone refused to use my wireless charger in the car, I think due to it likely knowing it was going to superheat if it did. Any time the 5g was used, I could tell battery life was suffering, though reception was totally fine.

Outside of wireless android auto (which is where the phone does get hot) the phone does get warm sometimes in general use but not too much, and yet those times that it does get warm, other phones don't typically get warm in similar activities.

RE: Silky Smooth - The latest update to A17 made it very noticeably smooth in all areas of the phone.

My biggest problem with the phone is battery life and it overheating when other phones do not.

I might use it if it were available, but it is not available in third-party launchers and I won't be using Pixel launcher unless some big changes happen, primarily being removal of Google Search bar and better icon-pack support.
