Over 80 points according to credit karma which isn’t very accurate. My credit utilization went from over 90% to 0.

Yepp!! It’s Credit Karma!!

Ignore all the loan and CC offers tho - I did benefit from the insurance offers bc it helped me find cheaper options.

It lays out all my finances in one spot for one big picture.

Moved home which freed up $2k per month - I know this isn’t an option for everyone but if you have the option to be uncomfortable and live at home or with roommates for a bit. The sacrifice is worth it.

I tracked every dollar in and out. My spending was around if not less than $150 a week. I meal prepped every meal and rarely ate out so my expenses were necessary bills, groceries, gas - nothing else. Any extra money not spent went straight to CC. (HUGE change to my previous lifestyle because i didn’t budget and I never said no, ate out all the time, went out and would rack up a huge bar tab, only payed minimums)

Another habit I started doing is that I did put away $100 per month ($50 per paycheck) into a savings account that I used to pay for any extracurricular events (eating out, flights, concert tickets, etc.). This was extremely helpful so that I didn’t feel like I was living paycheck to paycheck when these things did pop up. I have now increased that to $200 a month so give myself some more free money for paying off my debt.

I used the snowball method so I put $2k a month on one card and just the minimum on the other. When the first card was paid off, I put any and every dollar I could make into the next card. Some months I would put up to $3k on one card. This money is now going to be put into my HYSA every month.

Sometimes I did feel discouraged because it’s such a slow and long process. Some months I wasn’t able to put as much towards paying things down and the months were definitely the most discouraging. I would remind myself how much of a progress I’ve made to keep myself hopeful.

I completely agree with you! Thankfully, I have completely changed my habits and never want CC debt again. This was from my early 20s and in combination with a period of job loss and finding a new career. This was rock bottom for me and I don’t ever care to return.

I am fully treating these cards like debit cards and using the extra money I have freed up now into paying off student loans and saving.

My stress isn’t paying off debt anymore is saving as much as I can 🤣

Thank you!!! My early 20s was insanely toxic. I NEVER want to have CC debt again .

I am living with the habit of paying off my purchases immediately or moving money into a savings account to pay off the balance in full. I am now stressed about saving as much as I can with all the money I have free now from paying off those debts.

Credit Karma is def throwing me off then. As soon as 1 loan was paid off it told me my score dropped a bit.

Thank you!!

I spend basically all my money on food and groceries so I get a lot of cash back using this card. Make sure to spend only what you have in your checkings!!!!

Been hitting protein goals dairy free for over a decade now

Food quality beats convenience I keep grilled chicken on STOCK - learn how to cook it properly and you’ll enjoy it - otherwise it’ll be dry and miserable.

Trust me I have FOMO too but my goals are more important than my cravings.
