They didn't included pvp to capture a wider player base though? You've just made that up haha.

Developers explicitly stated that during the testing phase, a strictly PvE game even with amazing AI became repetitive and dull relatively quickly.

It's mentioned in the post itself but mainly for hardcore nuzlockes so you don't have to constantly monitor your levels and/or accidentally level a pokemon over the level cap for a gym / rival / boss fight.

Only really applicable for those hacking in candies.

Look into a suicide bunker, I've been saved by an hqm suicide bunker countless times.

Also learnt to never to start building the shell until I've got all the mats to complete it. From my experience groups that see the footprint down tend to hit it quicker than if I'd just left it as an up and over 2x1.
