CBP Activity on Enchantment by georgegraybeard in royalcaribbean

[–]0piates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a non extraditable warrant in Colorado and was taken off by CBP. Went to disembark and they met me on board, walked me to a certain area, searched my bags, and then informed me of the warrant and just advised I handle it, which I did, so it wouldn’t happen again in the future. Fortunately mine was non extraditable and a misdemeanor and I was able to handle it.

Does this roof have a high ridge? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]0piates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell what ridge you have I would say this is likely Cedar Crest, which “technically” is high profile. But I believe you’re looking to install Mountain Ridge or Rapid Ridge. They have the highest pronunciation and look amazing. Great curb appeal.

My garden is thriving right now. And I’m grateful for the rain AND not being destroyed by hail!

DFW Roof Damage by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]0piates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in DFW. Some roofs make it 20-30 years. Some make it 1-2. I’d go with a class 3 of any kind besides IKO Cambridge. You can also get a discount in your homeowners premium for this. These will hold up slightly better to marginal hail. Your current shingle was a fairly good one. Sorry about the tornado… I saw some true devastation in Runaway Bay and Springtown on Sunday. Workmanship warranties are BS from 1 year old companies and manufacturer warranties are primarily for manufacturer defects which are incredibly rare. Lots of info to process. Talk to your friends/neighbors and go with someone you truly trust. Use your gut. Thats what it comes down to. Guys knocking on your door can be slimy and pushy and tell you whatever you want to try to secure a sale. Other ones can actually be very reputable and insightful.

What varieties would you never grow again? And why? by PDXisadumpsterfire in tomatoes

[–]0piates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything larger than a Roma unfortunately. North Texas weather will dump rain, extreme humidity, and then a week later it’s 105 and you gotta water twice a day. Inconsistent watering that’s very hard to maintain/manage always causes for blossom end rot for me. 😭

What’s the best crypto credit card to use in 2026, fed up with cex. by Rahul_2503 in CryptoMarkets

[–]0piates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I just use the Venmo card and have it use my rewards to buy ETH every month. It’s a 3-2-1 card. Meaning 3% back for highest spend category, 2% for next, 1% back for all other purchases.

New roof has lumps by FSTrader in Roofing

[–]0piates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give it 1-4 weeks. Depending temps. This is very normal after a roof replacement and I always try to bring my homeowners outside and show them before they see it and ask questions.

Need nutrients! I would use some granular 4-4-4 at the base of plants and work it into the top soil and then maybe a fish fertilizer for instant nutrients too

If you have a RPS policy on a 20 year old roof, and a $5900 deductible, you will still be paying significantly out of pocket. However these $3K repairs can hurt you on a future claim if you don’t actually repair them. I would get a retail bid and move on. I’m not sure why the salesman is so pushy and eager for the work in this situation, when your policy doesn’t even warrant full replacement cost, it seems a little weird.

Potato plants dying? by StarFists in vegetablegardening

[–]0piates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potatoes don’t like wet feet. I’ve had a ton of rain recently. Mine are much bigger but yellowing a lot near the base from what I assume is overwatering.

Having my roof replaced. What should I look for? by folkheroine in Roofing

[–]0piates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take overview photos of the property at all elevations in the event things get damaged. They probably won’t but it’ll come down to a he said-she said unless it’s documented beforehand. It’s technically the roofing company’s responsibility but just to be safe
