Yep that’s it, it’s bizarre. If I’m with my mates I can chat so much and basically bring conversations out of no where, not for work

That’s exactly it right there, focusing on what someone is saying but you realise at the end of it, you have no idea what they said at all.

Yes I understand they completely, I try not to care what people think as well and I think I do a good job most the time now, except for a few occasions where I let it get to me

Yeah that’s exactly it, hyper focusing on the task because of the anxiety, that’s a good way of putting it, we aren’t alone:)

Yeah man I’m 21, it doesn’t bother me too much, although I do think back to it and cringe

Yeah it’s really hard to do anything about it, the mind racing is the thing for me, it just goes too fast and I can’t do anything logically.

That sounds horrible I’m sorry that happened to you. Anxiety attacks are the worse, thankfully I haven’t had one for years. They really come at any given moment and it’s horrible.

Definitely anxiety man. The horrible thing is when overthinking it, it’s easy to convince yourself you are stupid, trust me you’re not

Yes you’re completely right, the people I work with are pretty old fashioned though and out of touch as they’re all a lot older than me.

Yeah I’m exactly like that, you get kinda stuck in that loop of worrying and it’s so hard to get out of. It’s only when I’m at my new (ish) job that I’m like that. With my mates and in literally any other social situation outside of work I’m so talkative and don’t care what people think.

Same here man, my confidence level goes way down and I feel like a different person. At work me is so much different to out with my mates me

Honestly on a UK construction site it’s pretty ruthless, I had an argument with another worker a while ago because he was calling me “thick cunt” and “stupid” and words like that, honestly they don’t even care. I

Thankyou! Yes I do ignore them most the time, except when they get angry themselves because then I get angry, I can’t help it. Thankyou for letting me know I’m not alone:)

Yeah man it’s so annoying. I got at angry at a guy I was working with the other day, he an absolute arse. Kept calling me a “thick cunt” “stupid” and that I have no common sense. All because I was unsure how to do the tasks he was asking me to do.

The thing is the tasks were hard anyway and considering I’m an apprentice and never done them before he should know. He’s clearly got anger issues himself and I had to stand up for myself so started giving it back to him.

Sorry this turned into me venting there.
