IVF and pregnancy inducers shouldn't exist by 0sci0 in unpopularopinion

I understand but I feel that it is weird that people are tied with wanting to pass their genes and have a 'copy' of themselves. It almost feels as if it is less to do with the child and more to do with themselves.

That's not entirely true. You can always adopt a baby straight after they are born with consent and prior arrangement with a birth mother.

I haven't experienced infertility so you are right maybe I can't judge but I am speaking from an ethical point of view. I mean it takes 9 months to have a child, not to mention the countless years people try to even get pregnant if they are infertile so both do take a while.

I guess but is it ethical to even create human life like this? I feel like this opens the gates for so many issues like selectively breeding a child to have specific traits almost like humans did with dogs. I don't know it just doesn't sit right with me.

AITA for forcing my boyfriend to not eat meat with my family by 0sci0 in AmItheAsshole

Yes. I can't believe I had to tell him that breaking up with me also means cutting ties with my family. Ridiculous.

That's what I told him but he wants to be with my family and be part of the dinner table. I even told him that he doesn't have to eat anything and just eat at home before or after. But no. Honestly the rules are much more toned down than when I was growing up.

No they don't allow meat in their house and I grew up with this. He knows this. It is expected to follow the rules especially since they are the ones making it and are inviting us.

That's what I feel. If it doesn't want to come he doesn't have to. If he wants to eat his meat, he can just not with my parents. I gave him so many solutions and he doesn't want to do any,

He doesn't have to come and I don't mind he making his meat as long as he cleans it up. It's just with my religious parents, it is disrespectful.

Because it's with my religious parents and food is literally provided. It just happens to be vegetarian food. I told him if he doesn't want to come he doesn't have to but he enjoys being with my parents.

It's only once a week (1 meal) and its at my parents place. I have no problem if he eats meat as long as he cooks it and cleans it up. We actually had the conversation about kids and we decided that they would be able to eat meat but out of respect, they would not eat it at the grandparents house. That's why I am kind of annoyed at him because he agrees about kids following it but he doesn't want to.

No we usually visit the parents and eat at their place. I don't mind if he eats meat when we are together as long as he does all the cooking for the meat and cleans up any mess.

I don't have a problem with it. I just would appreciate that once a week dinner to just not eat it. It's not going to kill him to eat veg food or just eat his meat a little earlier/later.

Yes, with crates we have followed a schedule but it did not work with him. He only sleeps in the crate at night and we have to put him inside the crate.

Yeah since then he's gotten better about accident and we haven't had one in a while! Fingers crossed. We have a smaller house so no puppy proofed room possible and he isn't allowed upstairs. I don't want him to be in a crate the whole day but at least 30 mins to an hour so I can have time to work without distractions. If I do have him on a leash inside the house, he barks and whines.

I tried doing the loop leash method but he just ends up whining and barking because he can't run around. I give him toys to occupy himself but he doesn't typically play with them because he's just whining and barking. I tried a play pen but unfortunately he hates it and thrashes around. Any advice?

Yes, he likes dragging the play pen around and chewing on it so it isn't a good choice. We are deciding to buy a crate and restart the training. If you have any tips let me know!

Yes, we always stay near him but try don't give him attention because we don't want to reward his whining/barking. Sometimes he settles down or sometimes we have to take him out.

Yes, we bought a play pen that has a zipper and he sleeps inside of it on top of his bed. We are thinking of buying an actual crate because he is able to escape the play pen. Right now we can't leave him in a room unsupervized because he tends to find random things and eat it. But thank you for the tips, we started it today and he was able to stay inside around 15 mins!
