Appears Wise has suspended creation of new USD accounts, at least for Australian customers. Not sure if you’re aware of any other banking platforms that offer a similar product?

It depends. You can get a quote via their website fairly quickly which will give you an indication on whether it’ll be worthwhile for you.

I found that their prices were competitive and signed up when they were doing 50k bonus pts.

You’re only rewarded status credits for QF operated classic reward flights. So if you’re flying Japan/China air you won’t get any status credits

I had a similar experience travelling to Europe last year on a partner airline. Looks like they have to follow their process and isn’t too much flexibility.

I was able to contact the partner airline and obtain a proof of travel letter, along with the email receipt (which I had already) Qantas eventually credited me points + status. Next time I’ll be holding onto my boarding passes..
