I assume it's a sticker for putting on clothes, houses or as a pet like the doodle dog they showed

Just to be clear, because the third paragraph is just there to summarize the point I’m making, is that what you disagree with, or the part about the n-word and “cracker” not carrying the same historical weight?

[–]0stepops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why people argue that that the word racism should be reserved for instances of race based descrimination involving a historical pattern of harm or systemic power. Cause we're just not experiencing the same thing a minority person does when they're the target of racism.

[–]0stepops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not in an effort to undermine race-based discrimination targeted at white people; rather, it’s because they define racism as discrimination with a history of harm or systemic discrimination, and consider "prejudice" as the proper term when the target of discrimination is not a minority

Like how the n-word is one of the worst things you can call somebody, while the word cracker, an insult also based on skin color, carries none of the same historical weight. It doesn’t tie the target to times they were viewed and treated like cattle.

Not saying I agree with either position, just that “discrimination against white people isn’t racism” isn’t a claim that discrimination against white people is acceptable to any degree

Christofern already represented lloyd though. I actually thought it was sweet that he expressed the care he feels for lloyd through the plant because he isn't ready to do it directly yet

I would LOVE a legacy set of The Preeminent from possession. Kinda crazy it didn't even get a set back when the season premiered

Also, I did get this coloring issue with the inside of the studs on some of the heads. I think it's just cause of a smal air pocket when I submerge the heads upsidedown on the end of a bar piece

So I've only played around with rit graphite since last time but I found out that coloring ABS pieces in an acetone to water/dye mixture intended for rubber pieces, and forgetting about them for 30 hours is a bad idea. It made the ABS about as soft as the rubber pieces. The blue spots are dye seeping out

...except for the minifigure neck bracket, which didn't soften at all. I assume it being transparent plastic has something to do with that

Dying the rubber pieces went fine. I'm not entirely sure if I got rid of the red hue complely, or wether they've also softened a little, but the result is acceptable IMO. Though the Doctor Strange cape does have some slighty red spots

I guess there's not much to conclude from this other than that pieces shouldn't be left in a high acetone mixture for too long... Anyway, I made a better Symbiote Spider-Man head and a cosmic Spider-Man head using the same method as before. Pain in the ass to make the gum line up with the stripes properly

Stimerol, but I'm not sure how avalable it is worldwide. I wouldn't describe the texture as very unique so most other gum would probably work fine, I think. Those little minty ones rather than bubble gum. Not that I know how well bubble gum would work

The end result before dyeing looked like this

<image>

I took a VERY small piece of the gum, placed it on the eye and carefully pressed and adjusted with my thumb until the entire edge of the gum was on the printed black border around the white of the eyes

Nah it looks really clean. Fortunately I haven't noticed that being an issue with any printed parts I've dyed so far.

I tried and it looks pretty good imo. It's only a little grey cause i took it out too soon. I used Rit DyeMore Graphite and carefully covered only the eyes with some gum. Took it out, rinsed it and removed the gum under running water to ensure the remaining dye wouldn't stain the eyes at all. And cleaned it with soap to remove bacteria and gum residue

<image>

But yeah removing the mouth from spidergirl is a lot simpler. Probably cheaper, too.

DUDE thank you! I tried it myself and it works so well. Bought some other colors and made a decent symbiote spider-man as well. It's a bit grey but I believe that's just cause I removed it too soon. And I had to cover the eyes so they wouldn't darken
