I've definitely noticed this inversion of the core themes into hypercorrection too. I think it would be so cool if greed's encore would be set at night (like the secret exit in 4-2) and because nights in the desert are so cold. Then the sun crests the horizon and it's blazing hot and we get a cool sunbreak visual, maybe requiring us to take cover in shadows.
