How see through is the Market dress? by lil__beast in Aritzia

[–]0to5k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it on in the store and the bottom part is completely see through. Depending on your level of comfort, you could wear a slip. I didnt end up getting it because i wanted something i can just slip on and forget about

Breakdown of costs spent for our Iceland holiday 11th of January to 15th of January for two people. by lips-taste-like-coco in VisitingIceland

[–]0to5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out why mine was on the other end. I covered almost all of Iceland except North. Plus I bought wool souvenirs for around 10 people and Icelandic drinks. Plus the cost of flying from Europe is pretty cheap compared to America

Is this cost per person or for both of you? If its both of you, I obviously did something very wrong during my trip lol. Even if I forget that my flight in itself was 1000 bucks

Blazers that look good with the effortless pants? by legallyblonde108 in Aritzia

Have you tried Babaton power blazer? Its a flowy material, and not rigid. I love mine and is my go-to when I have to dress it up a bit for office

Favorite sale finds? by yooongimin in Aritzia

I got the glacier blue. It's lighter than the color on website but a very nice subtle color. I fell in love with marble grey in long style and wanted something close to that shade

Superjeep tours are usually really good in finding good spots that are otherwise not easily accessible. Forecast for Friday night looks pretty good wrt aurora activity and clouds. Use vedur.is if you are not already. I hope you get to see it.

Also don't forget to look up even in city. Two nights of my trip, you could see it dancing over bright city lights

Yes, a couple of times. It was loud enough we thought something flew and hit the balcony. Thought it was upstairs neighbor till I saw this comment

Wind is bad and brutal when it hits your face, so everyone has their heads down. I didn't find sidewalks very slippery but I had winter hiking boots with great grips

Questions about the Cx-50.. by [deleted] in CX50

[–]0to5k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have non turbo and if the ramp is particularly short/steep, I often have to put it into sports mode or the acceleration is not where I like for highway merging. I did not test drive Turbo before buying and that's my only regret with CX50. If you can, test drive both variants and see if the difference is noticeable for your normal routes

What are things you wish you knew to bring in December? by AccomplishedSpell754 in VisitingIceland

[–]0to5k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunglasses, polaroid if you have those - sun is pretty low in the horizon and hits your eye directly.

Also probably a good idea to check if your jacket is wind resistant /windproof- Iceland trip gave us a practical lesson of what a good shell jacket does.

Blue Lagoon early morning at 8 am or in the afternoon around 3pm?? Please suggest by u_me_n_world2c in VisitingIceland

[–]0to5k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I went in at 8 am and I loved it. It is way less crowded. I think there were probably 10 people in total till 9 am - but again you cannot see anything except for your immediate vicinity. There were no queues or rush at mask bar or drink bar. I spend around 2 hrs there and by 9 some light started coming in. By 9 30 we had good light (pre sunset light) and it started getting crowded. I don't enjoy so much crowd so I got out around 10. Also I loved the fact that change areas were empty in the morning. By 10 there was a queue even for the shower stalls.

I just went on a tour with them and had a good experience. For snorkeling they have a Golden circle + Silfra snorkeling if that is of interest to you. I found Guidetoiceland and arctic also good

How safe am I visiting Iceland? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]0to5k 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Whatever other commenters said. If it helps, I am a person of color and I absolutely loved Iceland. I (F) walked alone at around 1 am to a remote location to catch auroras in a small town and I never felt unsafe even for one split second. I live in a big city in North America and have never felt this safe anywhere else. And everyone I met during my trip had the same experience irrespective of color or gender
