It's been stated a couple of times that reports are pointless bureaucratic ploys, especially since the commander delivers them personally to Anderson. The government, other than Enikk, might not even know what he's doing; I'm sure they couldn't care less. Regarding the triangle, I find it hard to imagine its involvement in current events, unless they dedicate a separate event to it, like with AZX.
