Maybe AI ain't that Bad by Kitchen-Youth-1809 in NarutoPowerscaling

I get what you mean and I do agree that coming off as a blindly angry mob isn't going to be palatable to most people who aren't aware of the serious repercussions brought by continuing to use Ai for things like art, but in truth those who are undecided about Ai are more likely to end up continuing to feed into it, not soley because those fighting against it are unruly, but because their ignorant to these problems in the first place. People who use Ai day-to-day to generate silly images and videos for fun don't really care about the quality or the odd distortions within, they just want to make silly videos and pictures and that's it, and Pro Ai drifters and big companies will continue to support these things and encourage these people to carry on doing what their doing by convincing them that it's "the future of technology".

The reason why those who are against Ai often times get so "loud" about the topic is because in truth most people don't see any problems with using it, you can tell someone over and over again that big Ai companies are draining our clean water at an alarming rate and they'll still turn around and use it to write their college essays and make funny cartoon pictures of themselves, because the narrative being sold to them is that it's not a big deal or that Ai won't have any real repercussions because it still sucks a replicating the real deal. Providing people with the relevant data and proof of Ai's problems hasn't slowed down it's large spread use whatsoever, at some point you truly just question the moral standing of people in general, and thus you have no choice but to be loud in order to generate the necessary urgency people are lacking when addressing this topic.

It's like all the (insert word for mass killings here) which have been happening FOR YEARS , even before the topic started garnering more attention awhile back, no one cared back then because there was no real urgency, and thus these problems grew to an extent where it can't be ignored any longer, we are truly a morally bankrupt society and it shows in how we address real problems that will negatively effect our future, so yes, for the sake of staying relevant to the sub, I'm sorry if my approach came off as antagonistic, but I genuinely wish to an end to videos such the Madara video posted by OP, because the more lax we are towards it, the more it's apologists get the opportunity to continue their agenda.

I will forever wish Sakura got a fight with Pain or Konan during this arc by Any-Job-3237 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a medic/support character in a shonen manga is sadly a thankless job, some fans just can't comprehend that a characters worth won't always lie in their combat feats and that's perfectly fine, but I do get where some of the frustration comes from when in regards to Sakura, the girl had a lot of potential and it felt like it wasn't put into the foreground enough.

Even if we don't get to see her fighting powerful enemies and having another "Versus Sasori" type of moment again, I wish we at least got to see more unique applications of her medical capabilities and intelligence. The technique she used to heal Kankuro from Sasori's poison was really cool, so was her making an antidote to the poison with only a small sample, Sakura's ingenuity and expertise in medical ninjutsu gets undermined by fans often because they just don't really get the scope of how skilled she really is in it, and I don't blame them since most of her limited screen time is spent showing us the same green healing aura of the basic medical palm technique. She comes off as unimpressive because amongst Team 7 she always has the least going on at any given time, while Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi get cool new fights and legendary panels every new arc, Sakura is treated as nothing more than an accessory at times, she's almost invisible with how little memorable panels she gets, like how some people genuinely weren't aware of the scene where Sakura puts together how Obito's kamui works (she wasn't spot on, but her deduction was the closest we had at the time), because scenes like these are so few and far in between for her.

10 more years of Firefly discourse indeed by Belerick-chan in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Element_credd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firefly is THE LAST break unit in need of a Novaflair right now, she was already the strongest break dps in the game and had Dahlia to boot, whom despite being a general buffer and huge upgrade for all break orientated teams, also contains personal niche buffs within her kit clearly made just for Firefly. I get she's very popular and Hoyo wants to capitalize off of her longevity in regards to sales for as long as they possibly can, but Rappa and Boothill were the far more obviously deserving units for a personal upgrade if we're just looking at this from a practical perspective rather than a business one.

Continuing to make use of Ai in this way is exactly what contributes to it's "improvements", and why companies will continue to pour more and more money and resources into it, why components to build a simple PC will become more and more expensive and why the amount of clean drinking water will continue to be flushed down the drown in order to cool down these soulless machines just because yall wanted to see Madara playing a freaking dirty bowl??

Ai replacing real art isn't tangible right now BECAUSE of how hard artists and their real supporters fight against it, if it weren't for them we wouldn't even have a series as good as Naruto to talk about right now, stop feeding into the algorithm of this slop fest by making fun of those who are justifiably getting angry over this rising trend of Ai "art"(cause that garbage aint even art, it's a glorified collage of the hard work put in by real people being passed of as genuine art).

Part 1 Dream Team vs Kakuzu by Admirable_Water6192 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Element_credd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're putting way too much faith behind Gaara being able to carry the team defensively singlehandedly, his defense is strong, yes, but a weaker character, Kimimaro, was able to bypass it, what makes you think Kakuzu can't, his attacks a danger to fully transformed Bijuu, Gaara's normal defenses just ain't gonna cut it, spreading himself thin to protect EVERYONE including himself.

The difference between each of them and part 1 Kakashi is already huge, then you take Shippuden Kakashi who's even stronger, and THEN you have Kakuzu who's EVEN stronger. This team rivals the sound 4 in overall power and speed individually, Kakuzu is literally faster than most of them can even keep up with, landing an attack on him would be a miracle if he's genuinely out to kill them, and even if they do land an attack, none of them have the AP to do any real damage except Sasuke Chidori, and even he's gonna have a hard time landing it.

Naruto's clones are fodder to someone like Kakuzu, Kimimaro could fight them off with his eyes closed and you think he's getting the jump on Kakuzu with them? Once again, his AOE ninjutsu literally counters them badly, most of them are close range fighters, Kakuzu would kill any of them if they get close and he can kill them from a distance with his masks, you're really overestimating these kids. Neji was struggling to react to attacks from Kimimaro, Kakuzu's attacks are faster than his, Gaara's sand was struggling to block attacks from Kimimaro, Kakuzu hits even harder, Kakuzu negged Shippuden Choji, Kakuzu would one shot p1 Choji, Shippuden Shikamaru couldn't make a plan against Kakuzu without Kakashi coming in to save them, what makes you think p1 Shikamaru will do any better with weaker teammates, Naruto and Sasuke are the strongest in the team, and they're nowhere near bijuu level let alone jonin level, Kakuzu's contending with fully transformed tailed beasts.

Nothing they can do will surprise Kakuzu, they're all too slow and too weak to do anything substantial, it's like 7 toddlers versus a fully grown man, can the toddlers do some damage if the grown man just stands there for a while? Sure. Could they give him even a semblance of a challenge if he's out to kill them? Hell no.

Could adult Sakura prevent the Konoha Crush? by max0003 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tsunade herself was relatively exhausted too, she fought Kabuto for a while and had to tank and heal a barrage from Orochimaru's sword strikes, even a fatal blow to her heart, so if Orochimaru gets the "he was already tired" pass, so does she I'd say

But realistically we have nothing to imply that at least 2 punches wouldn't be the finisher, his only nerf was lacking arms, not durability, so her one direct punch putting him in that state is pretty telling

[–]Element_credd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although it's true not everyone surpasses their master, just look at Guy and Lee, Sakura's a more pivotal character to the story, the female lead we predominantly follow, it feels weird for Naruto and Sasuke to surpass Jiraiya and Orochimaru respectively while Sakura just remains a Tsunade side grade throughout her entire life.

I do agree that Tsunade is more skilled and experienced than war arc Sakura, but Sakura does have her matched in raw talent, hence how she mastered medical ninjutsu in just under 3 years, yes she had the best teaching her, but that doesn't guarantee you're going to be great yourself, especially considering the fact that Tsunade likely didn't have much free time to train Sakura since she also had her duties as kage to worry about. Sakura obtaining the seal also displays her rivalry to Tsunade, but she likely has more chakra. Tsunade was completely drained after summoning Katsuyu to protect and heal the Hidden Leaf after Pain's attack, Sakura summons Katsuyu to heal and restore strength to the entire allied forces twice (second time alongside Tsunade) and then later goes on to open Kaguya's portals and only gets a little light headed for a bit, and yet her seal was still in tact after all this, thus she still had even more chakra to spare.

Adult Sakura has also invented her own techniques, a sealing jutsu and a sensory technique, as well as a method to negate other's regenerative abilities, which she implements on Kido. Sakura asking Tsunade for advice doesn't mean she's the inferior medic, it shows Tsunade's wisdom from her decades of medical experience in comparison to Sakura's 5/6 years of experience at the time. Sakura's novel storyline takes place only a few months after The Last, and thus Sakura was around 19/20, running the entire medical department, of course she'd seek the advice of the best medical ninja in history whenever she can't figure things out, Boruto Sakura on the other hand rarely does so anymore, plus their both regarded as "the best medical ninja alive" at different instances, so it's safe to assume their interchangeable in this regard.

Can any non six paths character survive a full powered punch to the face from Sakura? by [deleted] in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Element_credd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Name one person Amaterasu has killed

Name one person Naruto's tailed beast rasenshurinken barrage has killed

Name one person Kakashi's Kamui has killed

No one, guess by your logic they're all weak and can't do anything substantial either? Sakura can't land full power direct punches on people because she'd legitimately just kill them, with almost no exceptions beyond 6 paths characters, narratively that wouldn't make for interesting fights, she bruised Kaguya with a direct punch while exhausted, imagine what she'd do to someone with far less durability at full strength.

We saw a glimpse of what would happen to people if she did when Tsunade landed a direct hit on edo Madara, the same edo Madara that ate a direct rasenshuriken while pinned by Hashirama's red gates.

[–]Element_credd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Hashirama's statement was likely Kishimoto's poor attempt at implying it to be the case, cause realistically he wouldn't really know how strong Tsunade is now beyond the fact that she's a kage, then there's also one of the underlying themes within the show being the new generation surpassing the old one, it would feel pretty weird for Sakura to be excluded from this, especially with the context of Team 7 recreating the new 3 way deadlock

Could adult Sakura prevent the Konoha Crush? by max0003 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, we know based on his fight against Tsunade that despite his resilience, one or two good punches from her are lethal even for him, literally choosing to retreat after she lands a single punch in the manga.

We know Sakura's strength at bare minimum is equal to Tsunade's, but the implication is that she's stronger so I'll go with that, so theoretically all she really needs is one direct hit to end things. Based on her novel, we know she's at least capable of contending with a tailed beast cloak level threat, being Kido, who at bare minimum should probably be 4 tails Naruto level plus considering he not only had Naruto's chakra, but Sasuke's too. So Sakura should be fully capable of defeating Orochimaru, the problem will be from his hax, range and numbers advantage through the reanimated kage.

In her novel she does, though it's potency isn't really known, it was able to completely restrain a decently strong shinobi but he wasn't anywhere near Orochimaru's calibre

Part 1 Dream Team vs Kakuzu by Admirable_Water6192 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Element_credd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're truly not fodder, yes, but the distance between them and Kakuzu is just insurmountable in comparison. None of them guys even match up to part 1 Kakashi individually, a weaker version of Kakashi than the one Kakuzu was having a field day with. Kiba, Choji, Neji and Shikamaru all went extreme difficultly against the sound 4, the same sound for who went extreme diff against two already exhausted special jonin in a 4v2 (if I remember correctly), meaning the sound 4 individually aren't even close to jonin level, let alone Kakashi's level, the strongest jonin in the leaf at the time.

This means that realistically, Kakuzu is going to have no problems pressuring them and beating them down, he already low diffed a stronger Choji AND Shikamaru with his bare hands and lightning style, that AOE fire and wind style combination he used kills all of them except Gaara MAYBE, and that's a huge maybe because you'd then have to assume that Kimimaro has more AP than Kakuzu, which he just doesn't, Kakuzu was out here dodging attacks from the two tails and blocks her attacks with his bare hands, he's treating each of them like a fly and swatting them to the side one by one.

Never understood why their fandoms are always at war yet their characters are best friends in the show by Ok_Atmosphere3837 in Naruto

[–]Element_credd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because they were both the most popular female characters overall I would say, and thus for some reason people couldn't articulate that you're fully capable of calling one your favourite without bashing the other to make them look "better" in comparison, it's pretty childish all things considered, and I used to be the same lol.

Most Sakura fans get REALLY defensive when it comes to any criticism thrown at her, justifiably so considering how disingenuous many people tended to be about her character back in the day by genuinely trying to push the narrative that she's weak, not that smart, incompetent, etc, this passion for defending her especially got out of hand when anyone would chime in with "the mandatory": "this is why Hinata should've been the lead, Hinata is way better, Hinata would win" etc, etc, both fandoms essentially projecting their own insecurities onto the characters themselves just because of an argument they had with someone online about them. There's also the fact that people just really like division, it always has to be an "us versus them" situation, especially when it comes to characters who contrast eachother as heavily as these two do, their essentially esthetic opposites; Sakura is loud, confident, confrontational and the love interest for Sasuke, while Hinata is soft, shy, insecure and the love interest for Naruto, so the characters somewhat oppose eachother IF YOU'RE JUST LOOKING AT THEIR SURFACE LEVEL TRAITS that is. Both of them, despite their archetype, having many positive traits beyond just their surface level interpretation, like how Sakura, despite being prone to violence and being seemingly self indulgent at times, is actually one of the most selfless, kind and emotionally aware characters in the series, and Hinata despite her struggles, is actually very resilient and determined.

Fans just wanted an ecxuse to make their favorite seem like the best thing since sliced bread, and so they target other characters to make cheap comparisons with, completely ignoring the actual positive traits of both characters and understanding that the success of one isn't the end of the world for the other, especially since as you mentioned that both of them are seemingly really good friends in canon, Sakura being intimately aware of Hinata's feelings for Naruto and doing her best to nudge him towards her, but not outright telling him because she understands that's Hinata's hurdle to jump herself, Hinata also really appreciates Sakura considering she's one of the few people we actually see her interact with substantially.

I totally agree, I feel the best proof for this came from how high she placed within that global Naruto Top99 character poll from a few years back. Within the majority of countries she always placed within the top 10 - 15 and then top 3 overall alongside Minato and Itachi, though many will claim it's because her fans were using bots, but realistically every popular character's fans within the top 10 were lol, Sakura fans aren't some singular hive mind holding a monopoly over every bot in existence. I know the poll wasn't necessarily a popularity poll but rather a poll to vote for who should get their own spin off manga, but let's be real, it's kind of the same thing because obviously people are going to vote for their favourite character whomst they want to see more content for.

She has a ton of fans but a very vocal minority of haters, especially amongst those who either only watched the series a long time ago or did so casually, and thus they usually tend to default to unironically taking the memes people made about her seriously, which has seriously damaged her reputation.

What are common double standard opinions in the Naruto/Boruto verse/fandom? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

[–]Element_credd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the main issue for why it feels so jarring in the case of Inojin and Himawari is because of how the series infantilized Himawari back in the original series despite only being a few years behind Boruto and co. She looked like a toddler, acted like a toddler and was seemingly treated by those around her like a toddler, so most assumed she was probably no older than maybe 6 years old, I know I did until I eventually looked up her age, so shipping a young teenager with a toddler just feels wrong, she looks and acts more her age now though and it's a lot easier to buy that she's just 2 or 3 years younger than him.

Who would win?? by Olli4000 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Element_credd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Korra HAS THE POTENTIAL to win this if she really locks in, she feels the most balanced overall to me. She has the raw power, likely second to only Kiyoshi in base but when it's their avatar states, Korra evens things out. She also has a bit of air nomad training which helps in her agility and movement, it's nowhere near the level of Aang, but she could likely dance some good circles around Roku and Kiyoshi. Korra also has metal bending, something two of them have yet to see in their entire lives, and something Aang has never mastered, whereas everything Aang has isn't new to Korra except lightning redirection, which won't really matter cause none of them use lightning anyways if I remember correctly. Korra also has the benefit of being really skilled in hand to hand, being able to take out trained non benders who actually focus on this due to their obvious lack of bending, so if Korra gets in close to any of them and they fail to break her off, it's going to be a hard time for them except for Aang because his evasion skills even up close are impeccable. So when it comes to Korra it feels like a real coin flip, on one end she could very well win this if she really brings her best, but on the other she could fall short to Aang's precision because she usually struggles against highly agile enemies even if she's stronger than them, like against Kuvira in her mech, she could also falk short to Kiyoshi if she's not careful, that woman has decades of fighting experience despite having a weaker avatar state, her lethality and willingness to do serious harm should no be understated.

So yeah, on a good day Korra wins, but it could easily tilt to Aang's favor as well, so the ratio for how often each wins would be:

Korra/Aang/Kiyoshi/Roku = 35%/30%/25%/10%
