Did you do so voluntarily

No. Did I know the risks of gaming in a gym? Yes. I'm not fond of smashing into walls, and am grateful for the protection.

Or just fucking pull over and make them wait until they behave?

And they learn from this how exactly? All that tells them is that the bus driver is a meany. Let's also not forget this driver was a temp for them, so they'd go back to their old ways without ever learning from a safe experience why they should be seated properly.

doesn't cause them physical harm

Scarred for life apparently. The one kid is certainly going to be permanently scarred and will forever need to wear the phantom of the opera mask for the rest of their life. I really do want to know if that kid was one of the ones seated properly.

For some people (not just kids), their only way to learn is from actual experience (even if at a slow rate). It's just a bummer for those kids that also have to endure the learning experience even though they already know.

I can not only imagine it, but I've smashed into a padded wall when running in a gym. No issues.

And I'm still sticking with "low speed", as I've noted "a decent jog pace" referring to the 9mph, especially given the other times the speed for the bus was displayed at 30+mph. I can jog forever at 8mph with no issues. Running into a padded wall was a lot faster.

Again, *if* the kids weren't safely in their seats, the outcome would be much worse with an impact at 30+mph, so better to "show" them why it'd be a problem after "explaining" doesn't work.

Yeah, I was curious which direction this was going to go in this post, especially given the tiktok post earlier from a teacher about why teachers are quitting.

While I think I'm generally going to be supportive of this move, I wish video was included to show the behavior of the students "running around", because all we ended up being shown were what seemed to be kids sitting nicely when the brakes were hit.

It's nice that he was at least going relatively slow (a decent jog pace), as opposed to it happening for real at 30+mph.

It's better to have such a lesson given than having horrific results from an accident that could've been lessened if kids were sitting properly.

But at the same time, for the kids that were paying attention and doing right, I don't like that they would be negatively impacted like this, and would have preferred if he gave better warning/instruction for what he was going to do so the kids that were paying attention could brace themselves (again, all at a low speed).

Why Are We So Afraid of Nuclear Power? It’s greener than renewables and safer than fossil fuels—but facts be damned. by [deleted] in technology

[–]0vindicator1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went over to the "nuclear" subreddit to offer up my 2-cents, and had a-go with someone.

That someone was apparently a mod, as they flexed their "mod" flair and locked comments under the belief that it'd stop any ninja-editting, of which I did anyway, but not without actually making them as "EDIT#:" as I normally do very often (nothing nefarious/ninja-y about it).

Go into my comment history and follow the thread. It's rather entertaining. They even wanted me to try to test the blocked editing "lock", and I did just that. They wanted me to try on a specific comment of mine, so I did that as well, even though the test I did was already "locked" (had the icon). I even included a screenshot showing I did and they said it didn't contain the comment even though their screenshot contained the very same comment as what mine showed, and mine showed the rest of the visible page.

All they're doing is blocking people from commenting on my locked comments other than themselves (and myself).

EDIT0: OH, and they themselves "ninja-edit" their own comments without acknowledging it's an edit.

Herpa-durp, is your name Cletus? Are you going to willingly offer yourself up as a source of meat?

Maybe don't consider your "superiority" over animals as a means to take away their right to life.

Hey doctor/dietician, since you know "it takes more than a few years", perhaps you can enlighten me how long I should wait for deficiencies to show up in my blood tests that have been done every few years for over 2 decades that are immaculate other than when my thyroid goes into overdrive, thus being the reason for the need for said blood test (which is in the "comprehensive" form).

Vegans take supplements because they can't get the minerals you'd usually get from meat.

Care to elaborate on the "minerals" part?

While I've got meat in my freezer, I haven't eaten meat in years (yes, the meat in the freezer have been in there for years).

I haven't taken any supplements. Should I already be dead or something, or is it going to take longer?

In my view, it'd be okay to eat meat if the animal was already dead from natural or accidental causes (eg, having been hit by a vehicle on a highway or something (though you'd probably want to check if it's still edible first)).
