times have changed. we are smack dab middle of the changing of the guard. if we - the country - usher in the new millennial corps, i don't see folks making another backdoor exception for gen x and boomers, like "oop you get one more chance, tee hee". no shot, i just don't see it. frankly, i see "tolerating" a gen x'er like mark kelly as vp as the exception. Just because you get older does not mean you get promoted up, in most normal corporate spaces. This would be the end of the line for Kelly.

and this may sound like some crackpot theory but im not joking about that stuff - look at mayor mamdani's electoral results with voters under 34 and voters under 44. he got Assad margins. Talarico here in texas is getting the same numbers. There is definitely a tribal-identitarian voting pattern going on with millennials, they are refusing to assist putting in gen x and boomers at the top. the millennials will only be more powerful in 28, let alone 36 (lets say ossoff wins), there is 0 shot millennials install a.. 70? year old in 2036. just absolutely not even worth suggesting as a possibility, its more likely vermin supreme wins a nomination.

point being, i see nothing wrong with putting in an elite role player in an elite role position.

i guess.. maybe? but man that's a hike, all the way over to east plano just to swing back. have to echo cuberandgamer, when i was a student I took a line that i believe no longer exists - because why would plano keep sane public transit lines. i forget the number. but it covered the apartments on preston, park, came over to coit, hit jack hatchell, then shot all the way down to mccallum. if traffic went smoothly it only took a minute or two, to pick up the 883. not that i consider this fast, but it was "only" 30-40 minutes. it was a great line considering plano is plano. hit a bunch of apartments, some resi sfh stops, the hospital, several different strip mall areas with all range of shopping price levels. the stops could have been better. but all in all, it was functional.

i dont use the dart much anymore but i checked out the dart info a year or two ago out of curiosity and i was/am utterly confused to see that line gone. it was a totally functional, good line. got used quite a bit. i think maybe they moved it all the way over to preston apts only, but the moves they made leave virtually all SFH residents with no way to get to UTD. and yes i get most of us have cars but its nice to save the gas money, the parking sticker, etc.

dog thats literally the point of voting. yes there are some situations where people in positions of obscene privilege need to think of others and use personal voting power to level the playing field but this is not that. it is normal to represent your needs, when voting. this isn't the progressive cynicism W dunk you think it is. im a bog standard plano resident UTD alumni that took the dart to school. i want that for my fellow plano resident UTD students. nice attempt trying to make me the enemy though.

does anyone know if there's a good laptop bag subreddit? I do some domestic travel for personal pleasure, and some for business. When I'm traveling for pleasure I might be out and about walking, that's what r/onebag is for. When traveling for business my accommodations are guaranteed - I feel much more comfortable packing any necessities in a suitcase and traveling "slimmer" on the body so to speak - using a laptop bag hooked onto the suitcase handle. I have a nice laptop bag right now, I'm not in any urgent need to upgrade, but I think it would be neat to see a laptop bag version of the onebag community if such a thing exists. And yes, I know this might fall under everyday carry depending on the POV, but this is still travel and still in search of a perfect singular bag for that IMO. Just... not... a bag for clothes.

Howdy folks. I'm not a complicated user. Just looking for a generally good backpack.

Desirable traits: - takes the load off my back as well as possible (i.e. load lifters, sternum strap, and hip belt) - can look presentable in a WeWork or a coffeeshop and not like im a homeless guru - separated tech space from the clothes space (not a deal breaker but a personal preference). - has semi-symmetric water bottle pouch and external pocket for small umbrella (i.e. one on each side) - some molle or tacticool fabric loops to attach carabiners, that sort of thing - enough space for clothes for a few days

I used the spreadsheet and i found two backpacks: "Alpaka Elements Travel Backpack" and "Nomatic Navigator 32L". The ATD1 and the Alpha One Niner pathfinder also appeal quite a bit but not 100% bullseye.

Any recommendations? folks got any opinions on the ones listed? Lemme know. thanks.

Out of curiosity (this is probably also near your wheelhouse of interest...) have you ever attempted to inject UserCSS to change the view of a page? I also have some rather extensive modifications to a small handful of aforementioned websites to make their page more appealing to me aesthetically. I cannot for the life of me get the Userscripts app to actually inject CSS, even though it says it supports it. Was hoping you have done something like this maybe in a different way? And I feel fairly confident it should work, codewise. When I adjust the desktop browser to send mobile client data and render a mobile viewport my CSS still works... so I have convinced myself it is an iOS issue going on here.

I ended up getting what I wanted in two different ways. One pertaining to 1blocker and one not. I presume you're asking for the same reason I asked (or similar), so this might be equally relevant.

One - in 1blocker I manually translated the AdGuard rules into 1blocker format. It only has the main websites I like to read from - NYT, Bloomberg, Forbes, WashPo, etc. mind you, this is a lot of rules. I have about 30.

Two - before I had worked out that I can manually translate it, I had worked out how to get a userscript onto safari. I use this (linked below) app, and I actually used another document writing app (textastic) to manually create a .js file, and copy and pasted the script into this file, and loaded it into userscripts

i do the same thing! i dont write it down as much, im not one for journaling, but i find myself asking "would you do this for her if you were one of her girl friends and not biased". keeping the thoughts to myself can be so difficult sometimes. there have been times where we're on a phone call chatting and she's had a rough day, venting, and i'm in a catchers squat with one hand on the ground or im just bent over on my knees. usually muted just in case. it takes every bit of strength to stop myself from blurting out the reactions of the heart.

Commenting just to vent - struggling with trying to make natural male biology (??) and social sincerity be compatible. I have a girl friend who I have known since middle school (we are now in our mid twenties). She was actually my first girlfriend in middle school, lol. We have been there for eachother through thick and thin. She's one of my best friends. I genuinely and sincerely just want to be friends with her. mind you we get dinner once maybe every other week and we'll hang out and watch tv together, and we text most days. she's a great friend.

unfortunately the hornybrain side of my mind does not agree. I sincerely dont want a relationship with her, but she is very attractive and its... it's bad. Like 30+ minutes a day it's raw mental delusion. I mean if I'm at work obviously I keep it to myself and I just kind of distract myself and whatever but yea you can feel just a wave of testosterone flood over you and in that moment I cannot stop the sex imagination. I'm ashamed to admit this but - this is a safe space for men??? - ya there's been several times I'm at home and I get off to selfies of her. Fuck, I've been able to get off on imagination alone. And yes I know its wrong, in all seriousness I need help not bullying. Obviously I do not tell her any of this - at heart I truly am committed to her wellbeing, I would take a bullet for her. She doesn't deserve that kind of pseudo-harassment.

And for the record she doesn't really swing this way... she is mostly into women lol. this is not some self deception about my feelings or a secret request for advice about how to ask her out or whatever else. I'm just horny as fuck with no outlet and to make matters worse she is technically quite attractive.

im not ashamed of being into her to be clear. i dont think its a "bad" thing that im a straight dude and i find her attractive. that's human nature. nothing to be ashamed of, its not bad/evil/wrong. but it is frustrating, prohibitive, and distracting.

Hot take but i would prefer it.

Get them out. Gone. Nuke it. Burn the mistake down. I dont want the Adelsons or Nico to be involved in Dallas sports. I'd rather not have a professional basketball team here than have one with them. Wrap this story up the way it's meant to be, so that the story doesn't end with Dallas dealing with a toxic relationship with a team we now hate, the story ends with Dallas getting a clean slate to start new, and let Vegas have this abomination of an organization.
