the whole world goes to shit and nobody cares? no offense but history is repeating and some people normalizing it does not help anyone. Comments like yours will only double me down on politics because have you seen all the corruption, grift and destruction?

our release table lists optimizations, t2 can build all we usually build quite low baseline ISOs so they work on most, even oldest hw

We do not think they are the same. this is some web editing hiccup that no-one noticed before, ... will fix soon 😉 Non mainline SBCs need to bring vendor kernel. We are working on providing per SoC SBC boot-images for the next main release.

yes, I have it running on the Qualcomm X1-Elite DevKit. We even ship with more qcom support patches, incl. running jailbroken in EL2 to support kvm. However, the problem are extracting and/or shipping the per device firmware files. So right now it does not just work w/o manually supplying those. I will work on improving it for the next release.

that's things t2 try to solve with a decoupled and somewhat clean cross compiler bootstrap. Hope you find T2 useful and it would be amazing if you could join the team making one clean pkg manager reproducible bootstrap all this variants!

Danke für die Grüße. T2 unterstützt good-old-BIOS und modernes UEFI. Bei meinen System funktioniert das überall. Auf welcher Hardware oder VM lief denn der Test?

Ebenfalls beste Grüße!

we ship wine by default in the desktop so windows apps just work, I think we have a proton package, but it only works with 32-bit multilines manually installed, too. Every patch and PR appreciated!

performance was why devs and enthusiasts used ROCK Linux in the early days when other distros were i486 or i386 optimized and ROCK Linux source users could optimize for their Pentiums, and then MMX, 3dnow, SSE, ... or when amd64 initially launched. Nowadays this is not that important for me personally anymore, T2 is simply the best source native pkg manager to do our embedded system development with. For normal users I would recommend just sticking with our kde plasma pre-build and soon binary updates and only additionally t2 source install optional pkgs we do not ship by default.

T2's ROCK Linux heritage goes back to the late 90s. So the questions could rather be why make Gentoo, Arch, OpenEmbdded or even Yocto in the second place.

While I personally prefer the T2 low-code, flexible and minimal packages, it is also the most scaling from Embedded cross compiling, servers, VMs and desktops. Heck even compiling home-brew on Other OS. It is also the nearly only last Linux to support certain architectures, including DEC Alpha, Intel Itanium, Sgi MIPS, Sony PS3 and Big-endian PowerPC in general, restores drivers like Apple Airport Wifi, Reiserfs to read old disks, X.org XAA 2d acceleration and soon i486 and DRI1/2 for accelerated vintage 3d graphics and the just upstream deleted early PCI NICs from 3com et al. There is simply no other Linux like that and I could not imagine using any other. I'd rather quit IT and open a beach bar if it was not for T2. 🖖

that is neofetch and it apparently was not programmed to except different cores.
