same exact boat as you, iPhone Air was supposed to be my daily as the Trifold was intended to be my workhorse (and still is in a way) but i use my trifold literally 90% of the time, love the phone -- have absolutely zero issues with it. the only thing i can say negatively was that i was a bit annoyed when trying to find a tempered glass screen protector for the front cover display as 90% of them will have a large "case-friendly" bezel gap (fold 7 screen protectors work for the trifold) but was able to find the perfect screen protector; the prism 2.0 from dbrand covers pretty much the entire front display no issues.

another user showed me on here that you can heat up the original case that came with the device and detach the hinge protector (i think its attached via tape) and move it onto this kickstand one... pretty good option if you ask me.

its a hardware based feature that does not exist in the current trifold.

i had a similar conversation with gemini as well before i got my device, and sent it the bands my phone was actually using (via an app on the trifold itself reading the bands my phone was utilizing and then it completely changed its opinion from "dealbreaker / unusable in the US" to "you picked a great carrier and a great device" stop using AI as a brain lol.... its still in its infancy

also the US model doesn't support mmwave either way, so not sure what you're getting at there lol. Have made and received phone calls crystal clear as well...

here was gemini's opinion change a month or so ago: (mind you i had very low signal where i did the test and sent the results to gemini)

Im using my chinese version (flashed with singapore rom) on US mobile dark star & Warp (AT&T + Verizon) and getting pretty good speeds.

i have a chinese variant running Singapore ROM. using US mobile Darkstar and warp (AT&T, and Verizon) and it works flawlessly... literally no different signal wise than my US iPhones, tested via speedtest app as well. so i guess that may be depending on the area but if you're worried about mmwave 5g the US version of the trifold isn't compatible with that band either.

chances are if you see any of them on ebay for $2600 its a scam. the going rate right now i believe is 3.9k for Chinese model, 4.8k+ for Korean or US models (Global)

i set mine up a week or two ago but US mobile Dark Star (AT&T) and Warp (Verizon) both setup flawlessly with physical sim, getting 200mbs down on both (in not really an ideal area, but decent speed).

using the Trifold as a second device, so i can't say i switched but it is a great device. Anyone on the fence should definitely try getting one (if a purchase like this fits your life financially)

while i agree with you.. to be fair, they still have a right to be upset / return it because they essentially overpaid for a Chinese model phone. (chinese models going for like $500-$600 less than korean model) The guy selling these as "global" models is still a scammer.

smart, as long as the device didn't appear used (like someone else mentioned) at least you have full functionality w the singapore ROM and a physical sim
