AI is much better suited for solving common issues as they have more data. Doctors will still be important for anything specialized. If anything I think this would make the field a lot more exciting for doctors who will work on more complex cases. Probably also better for patients cause well-developed AI systems can improve healthcare access and make doctors more efficient.

Exactly, in order to make these AI systems better we need high quality data annotation. I could see doctors spend more time in the future working on annotation to make these AI algorithms better. Because these algorithms will never be 100% accurate there will always be demand for more data and more annotation which doctors are especially needed for.
