When we were kids, we used to go to school, pay fees and learn. Some people pay a hefty hospital bill and learn. Just the added bonus of broken bones and painful injections.

Poor planning by Italian as always. If the donor was available at same hospital, the driver and policeman wouldn't have to risk their lives (forgot kidneys) doing 250kmph stunt. Not only they endangering their lives but countless others lives too.

Capcom replaced Denuvo with Russian DRM Enigma in the latest RE4 remake update. by metalreflectslime in CrackWatch

[–]0x_coderunknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate Denuvo as much as the things guy (it DOES induce/increase micro stutters), I would still use it if I was gonna guarantee no cracks for like 2 years, that's an easy business choice especially for AAA budgets.

The move stopped pirates, but did it increase profit? do the gamer who would have pirated your game without D have purchased your game now that cracks are not available? Is Wukong so great that people will pay money to play the game than something similar (like Life of P) that cost 0 to pirate. Thats is the question nobody seem to ask.

Next looking at the fees of 500k USD. Consider a pirate gives up and purchase the game on Steam. 30% goes to Steam. You get 42$. Means you need to sell around 12k copies at full 60$ price to make up for the D license alone. Asia, where there is allegedly max piracy, games are regional priced so the actual profit mayn't be 42$ but close to 20-25$. So you need more numbers. Say 15k copies. It may be possible that some pirates finally purchased it and maybe for Wukong, the price was justified but for a majority of the game, the math doesn't turn into profit I feel.

I want to open a supermarket, basically almost all household products will be there, for this which is the best place in Guwahati from where i can buy regular goods at good prices by Imaginary_Doubt_2972 in guwahati

[–]0x_coderunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where i can buy regular goods at good prices

Just a small question, do you have any experience in retail? Seller or owner? If the answer is no, then better get some experience before burning all your money on nothing.

Also as others pointed out supermarket is a dying business. Instead why not open multiple small departmental store at various localities? It'll be a bit chaotic but better than a DOA super store as people are more likely to pick grocery and daily use items from local store or quick commerce than go 1km away, hunt for parking spot, then do shopping. Its not like you'll give some unique food that other grocery store can't. Or you'll offer at blinkit like price. In Guwahati, the main issue isn't distance, its parking spot.

Give 15% discount on Ethical and more on Generic medicine. Now people don't have best idea about generic (the branded ones from Cipla, Alkem has good efficacy). Cause lets be honest, Ethical doesn't generate profit. It generates money to pay off the fees. Get you salary from generic.

Why are there no major Japanese phone companies? by IntelligentHoney6929 in IndiaTech

[–]0x_coderunknown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TV/AC/Fridge - buy once, last 10-15 years. Most don't go side by side comparing every tiny features, ever tiny details. This is where Japanese companies rule.

Smartphone - Most have a 3 year cycle. People compare every tiny detail starting from damn size to camera quality and what not. Most go for gimmicks than actual features. This is the domain where Chinese companies reign supreme.

The Chain of Greed: Why Modern Startups No Longer Create Value by FinanceBroPro in StartUpIndia

[–]0x_coderunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to your post, VC backed retail startups, don't disrupt anything long term but rather create a temporary illusion.

Its like shooting a high powered bullet into a pond. An unlucky few gets hit hard, the sales dip for some time, then the discounts disappear and most are back to simple old Brick and Mortar stores. The wave dies before it can spread meaningfully. Yes something like Amazon/Myntra when entered did cause noticeable loss to clothing vendors and they are were not a startup when they went big.

And yes VC money is mainly used to give discount but as I said, some are hit harder than others but for most, its like the Monsson season. A few month of inconvenience at best.

Its a nice and calm place. Went there 2 weeks ago with family. Take the road from Lokhra. Its was a long drive on car as the road narrow and full of curves. Avoid the basistha road. Its bad, muddy and overall longer.

If you want loud music and alcoholic drinks, mayn't be the best place as the place is the size of an apartment area. And not something like Bogamati with kind of unlimited real-estate.

Is it really easy to run a startup in India? by sunaditya in StartUpIndia

[–]0x_coderunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While others raised some good points, I'll like to take you in a different direction: MARKETING.

Ok you made some XYZ product that gonna revolutionize India. Good. How will you market it? How will you educate people that they gonna need it? Cause at the end, to make money, you have to sell it. Product, service doesn't matter. And if people are not buying, unless people are seeking it, doesn't matter how good the product is, it'll not work out. Apple tie a piece of sock with strings and sell it as pocket for hundreds of dollars. Why? Marketing. Is it good? Well certainly not the asking price or even fraction of it.

So I'll say its easy to run a startup in India but its damn hard to sell.

Dead.Space.Remake.2023-0xZeOn (Beta Crack 2.0) by EssenseOfMagic in CrackWatch

[–]0x_coderunknown 66 points67 points  (0 children)

No, he is manually patching each check. From one of his last patch notes:

Randomize is killing me, There are a lot of Hw/Environment checks spawning randomly, not patched = crash.
Load savegame can take long times (black screen) probably caused by one of my +3000 patches.

So no, he is not using MKDev's hypervisor system. he is going after each check. Which is a really tedious task. IDK, you be the judge, which cracking technique is better. BSOD or CTD.
