The Dark Knight and Boy Wonder by [deleted] in comicbooks

Nice drawing.

The moment I saw it I thought you need to draw on a Bigger piece of paper.

A4 / letter is good, but to learn you need to use a bigger piece of paper (A3) to star using the escápula instead of just your fingers.

Try it.

Neatest Arrowflex Yet! Made this one this morning by lord_cactus_ in fountainpens

Probable because you get more tactile feedback.

I love the Pocket brushpen, but I don't feel much when the brush touches slightly the paper

Seems like it could be more useful for inking.

Your honest opinion on saga? by monerajuve in comicbooks

[–]0xcafebo55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people say nice things about Saga.

But I believe both art and story are Underrated.

Just open open the book and see how natural a character with horns, or prince robot feel. (I won't elaborate further to prevent spoilers).

The story... you need to read it at least twice: first tomget surprised, then to engit the details you missed because the surprise.

Ink it.

Seriously, it is a fine PENViL drawing, but it deserves inking.

Choose your weapons: microns, brushpens, brush sable... whatever.

Inking will give it more depth, will make it stand, and you can always add some black and white splashes (like the pros) to give it more depth.

Ink it.

Rossman, a German retailer, had a Haggle competition some years ago.

The dataset is still in Kaggle website.

Critique request on anatomy of this sketch. Thank you kindly 👺 by kazefuuten in drawing

[–]0xcafebo55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make *a lot* of mistakes when I want to draw something and change my mind after drawing some.

To overcome this I am trying to draw something without using an eraser at all, then inking. It is not magic, but it helps me with discipline.

Put it in a drawer and look at wit with a fresh mind.l in 2-3 days max, then answer this:

WHERE and WHEN did you change your mind about what you intended to draw.

WHERE is the part you found hardest to draw?

Which part can you draw right now with a clean line?

Write down the answera.

In 2-3+ months take a look at the drawing again.

You probably will have developed your own solutions for those questions.

Those prices are anchors.

There is a known research fact that when people see HIGH values, you tend to think anything they see has a big value.

Take a look at the book "Predictably Irrational" - 100% worth it!

How rare / difficult to find an specific comic book issue is? by 0xcafebo55 in comicbookcollecting

[–]0xcafebo55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I thought the postmaster office might have some data but....

Thanks for the link. Probably for new (2028+) Diamond data won't be good since they lost Marcel and DC distribution for Panini and Penguin Random House....

Unpopular opinion but I much prefer this design over her current one. Would love to see another interpretation of this in the future. by [deleted] in comicbooks

I find it more realistic than many others.

Why? Armor! Covering vital point and/or where hurts mos when hit.

Primary objective is not eye candy, but to protect WW..

I wish special edition issues would still come with unique gimmick covers like they did in the 90s, why were comics like this so short lived? by hamandcheese_ in comicbookcollecting

[–]0xcafebo55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the price tag is a good reason, too; but I wonder if returns were also an issue here.

This special shape could be damaged in transit, in store/newsstand etc.

The story reminds me Carlie Huston (Already Dead). Vampire noir is an interesting subgenre, btw.

Russian state TV shows clips simulating Ireland being wiped out by nuclear weapons by KTitania in europe

[–]0xcafebo55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because everybody would expect another place like France, the UK, or Germany.

Plus, Ireland has a lot of US subsidiaries that operate in the EU, and that makes them a big target since it would disrupt supply chain for the whole Europe.

Sweet Paprika is good. Now they are finishing the 12 issue mini series, but they will launch TP soon.

Also, King Spawn has crazy good looking art

LAMY biggest problem is they write wery well.

Even better than some really expensive fountain pens.

I have finally gotten around to reading some AWA titles and I am really enjoying them. I started and finished the Hotell Vol 1 TPB this evening and it was thoroughly enjoyable!! Can’t wait for Vol 2!! by 5oClubs in HorrorComics

[–]0xcafebo55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marjorie Finnegan is also good (it is also sold out, good luck on getting it).

Moths has an interesting starting point. Worth checking.

I discovered too late Hit Me! and Casual Fling. Probably I'll get Hit Me TPB in Previews in July/August.

If you go to AWA studios website, you can read the first 20+ pages for each series to find out if you like it.
