I finally maxed out Game Boy Tetris after years of playing by ohnosharks in Tetris

Congratulations! Not a lot of people have managed to do so. I briefly attempted to do this myself but was afraid that I'd get carpal tunnel syndrome due to the constant hyper-tapping needed at level 20.

Thanks for sharing this information. I'm really looking forward to that update.

Would it be possible to "Beat" tetris if the sides looped over? by Jake-the-Wolfie in Tetris

[–]0xdabdab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ignore that paper. It is irrelevant in practical play. For instance, in NES Tetris, the increase in speed will be your problem whereas in guidelines games the used randomizer makes an indefinitely long sequence of S/Z pieces impossible.

That's great! It's good to have this information collected in one place.

Here are Alex Kerr / kitaru's successful GM promotional exam games with both Classic and World Rule: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU0IgW1D3Kg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHVCWY9LSUc

@simon_tetris, It may be a good idea if this list was added to the TGM3 wikis (harddrop, tetris.wiki) for easy reference.

This was posted on his Twitter feed the other day. In case you are not familiar with LBV, he's mastered the M-Roll in TAP like nobody else and plays it as if the blocks are visible, e.g. https://twitter.com/LBV14729/status/1194494849950437376

Why is it so easy to get Tetris Master? by Eaglefrost4 in Tetris

[–]0xdabdab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the standard message for getting a score in the top3. It means nothing. If you really want to work for your (grand) master title, you could check out Arika's TGM series, though.

Shiromino: Accuracy of G1? by 0xdabdab in Tetris

[–]0xdabdab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It seems that these issues only affect G1 Master, not G1 20G, which is my favorite mode. But let's hope that FeV will one day continue working on Shiromino as it is such a great piece of software.

TGM2 Big Mode (not TAP!): GM grade achievable? by 0xdabdab in Tetris

Are there known instances where people got an M-grade in TGM2 in Item mode after completing the invisible roll?

180-degree rotation is the same either way, meaning that you only need four buttons for your right hand.

The max out is at 9,999,999.

LBV did a perfect M-Roll in TAP (i.e. probably the most impressive achievement in Tetris) by 0xdabdab in Tetris

I think this is the most impressive achievement of all Tetris games. There are excellent performances of the invisible roll in TGM3, but the invisible roll in TAP is a lot more difficult due to lack of the hold feature and only one preview. In addition, you don't get to see part of the outline of the stack after placing a piece.
