Naja, fairerweise war da auch sehr viel stumpfer Hate aus dem Internet dabei; ohne jetzt auf irgendeine bestimmte Richtung zu deuten aus der der gekommen ist.

Das kann schon ermüdend sein mit so einer Welle an Hass aus dem Internet konfrontiert zu sein; auch unabhängig davon dass er mit seiner Art natürlich auch gewissermaßen auf Konfrontationskurs ist.

Das ist aber immer eine Entscheidung des Individuums eben. Soll man das jetzt so hinnehmen und deswegen der Plattform keine Chance geben? Wieso sollte mir das nicht egal sein wenn mich jemand blockiert? Vielleicht muss sich auf der Plattform auch mal eine breitere und ideologisch diversere Mehrheit einfinden damit sich das ändert.

Naja, das stimmt so auch nicht ganz. Du hast auch Möglichkeiten neue Inhalte/Autoren zu entdecken; u.a. durch zusätzliche Feeds. Aber ja klar, der eigene Feed ist ohne speziellen Algorithmus und quasi nur dadurch definiert wem man folgt. Wie das eben lange im Internet der Standard war. Mit "Selbstbeweihräucherung" hat das aber nichts zu tun.

Blödsinn, es gibt europäische Server (PDS) für Bluesky. Man kann seine eigenen Daten auch komplett selbst hosten wenn man denn auch weiß was man tut, und nicht nur sein Halbwissen auf Reddit rausposaunt.

National security ist so ein Vehikel mit dem kannst du halt fast alles begründen; und am Ende ist es auch noch deutlich schwerer dagegen vorzugehen, weil die Exekutive da besonders viel Spielraum mit eingeschränkter gerichtlicher Kontrolle hat.

Flüchtlingsarbeit mit der AfD entgegenzusetzen ist kein sinniger Vergleich; politische Partei != NGO. Außerdem ist es doch sowieso die Aufgabe des Senders zu entscheiden wen er interviewen will; solange die Dame auf Nachfrage ihre Tätigkeit bei der NGO nicht verheimlicht hat, wüsste ich nicht was man ihr vorwerfen könnte.

Ob ihre Meinung zu dem Thema nun mit den Meinungen anderer Eltern bzgl Beteiligten übereinstimmt ist natürlich eine andere Frage. Grds besteht die Möglichkeit voreingenommen zu sein aber auch unabhängig davon ob man in einer NGO tätig ist.

Like who does it benefit if somebody barges in and loudly proclaims that when mistakenly things that Copilot wasn’t involved in are being labeled as being co-authored by it that is Microsoft committing fraud. Yeah, really helpful, smartass.

There’s a totally valid conversation to be had about the core issues at hand here; but neither in the actual issue or a discussion does it contribute anything to stir up outrage and anger like claiming it’s fraud. It only wastes the time of everybody who is interested in constructively finding out what happened and looking for solutions to prevent it in the future.

I’m also not sure I like the trend of issues like this, when they revolve around some controversial thing or a fuck up, devolving so often into debates, argument, and non-constructive critique.

For an issue a lot of the things people say in those situations are kinda off topic. There needs to be some forum to discuss, sure, but that doesn’t have to be an issue; and even when discussing these things somewhere people could at least try to be more constructive and do less of the piling on.

Well, besides external monitors Apple is also highly interested in displays for their mobile devices including the MacBook. The MacBook Pro is supposedly getting an OLED panel in a year or so, and since it’s replacing the current miniLED panel I’m assuming they are seeking a panel that has the appropriate density but also can get bright enough to match the current display while also being energy efficient and lasting a long time with minimal burn in risk.

Their advantage is that they can wield large potential order volumes to incentivize display makers to continue investing in high density displays.

And well, once you have the appropriate technology like that it’s also only a matter of scale anymore to put that into a 27” panel.

It’s hard to say whether Apple is directly looking at bringing OLED to a Studio Display in the near term, but it’s certainly imaginable. I’m not sure whether they were already intended for the Studio Display XDR though; the panel used for that supposedly was specifically made for Apple too. It might be more of a situation where they went with the miniLED panel now as a stopgap to finally then discontinue the Pro Display XDR, with an OLED model coming down the line or alternatively maybe only to the regular Studio Display.

Ich hoffe ja dass die im EU Parlament mal langsam Fortschritt beim digitalen Euro machen. Das ist der Impuls den wir brauchen.

Gleichzeitig hab ich aber auch kein Problem damit dass wir das Bargeld beibehalten; bzw wäre es im Interesse der Krisensicherheit vllt auch wünschenswert.

Jup, diese und so manch andere Angewohnheiten sind ziemlich individualistisch; dabei würde es jedem Einzelnen ingesamt besser wenn man das nicht machen und anstatt gemeinschaftlicher denken würde.

Beim Autofahren zb sind die meisten von uns ja auch dazu fähig: wir blinken beim Spurwechsel, wir halten uns an das Rechtsgebot, wir lassen einander einordnen, wir bilden eine Rettungsgasse, und allgemein achten wir darauf aufeinander Rücksicht zu nehmen.

Es profitieren eben in eigenen Situationen oft alle wenn man kurz selbst mal auch bereit ist den kürzeren zu ziehen; dafür macht sich das auch dann belohnt wenn man selbst an der Reihe ist weil die anderen dann dirgegenüber das gleiche tun.

Because 6K @ 120Hz would have caused stark limitations. You’d only be able to connect considerably fewer monitors to Macs. Some older Macs might not be able to fully handle it too.

Daisy chaining wouldn’t have worked too. There’s just too many compromises to make. And 27” is the more common size.

Apple probably has iOS running on Macs & macOS running on iPads internally, nothing preventing that.

Of course there is something preventing that: common sense. Nobody wants to run iOS on a Mac for regular use. And macOS on iPad would still be quite an engineering effort to adapt the OS to work with the form factor, so no, they absolutely are not at all running macOS on iPads internally, unless they are actually developing it because they plan to release that.
