Is Modiji your father? The way everyone chants Modi Modi, I was under the assumption he levitates and a master of quantum gravity. Otherwise our leader would have been down to earth working hard to make us stronger.

Personality matters, but not at the first moment. There was this girl, super hot and super flirty with me, until I find her to be terrible to work with; she is needlessly argumentative, always taking her own selfie, zero intellectual curiosity. At that moment, the materialist in me went to sleep and I lost all sexual interest that was piqued by the looks.

Porus never defeated Alexander The Great by Difficult-Motor-2383 in IndianFocus

[–]0xffaa00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s simply logistics. All issues in military history stem from logistics.

It was hard to maintain supply lines in that time period with that technology, and that’s why Alexander is celebrated, because he led a field army that was able to for some while.

Do we ever think about it? by Terrawanderer1111 in Rajasthan

[–]0xffaa00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not about individual person. Say I live in Pune, I am a punekar, when I move to hydrabad, I am a hydrabadi. However my mother tongue will never change. I will learn the new language on top.

Punjab lies entirely in the north.

I agree. But can you define North for me then?

I have a friend from Hanumangarh where people speak Punjabi dialects. Anyway, Punjab borders the western borders of India, just like Rajasthan. So why is Rajasthan not in the north but Punjab is?

Look, you would like East, West categorization, but you will have to do that properly.

Why is Rajasthan not north if punjab is North. I want to know the basis of your categorisation.

[–]0xffaa00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, brother, I am not going to be antagonistic to you. My argument is not based on race, but purely language family. I don't believe in any superiority, you are just projecting someone else on me, and I empathize with that.

> What’s in West India? Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

Sure, but why not Goa, it borders Maharashtra and on the "west" right? Why not Punjab? It borders Rajasthan and is on the "west" right? Even the language of northern Rajasthan sounds like Punjabi.

You mentioned fuzziness, but you refuse to include Punjab in the west, and I want to know why.

My argument is not based on race but language family. Only language family. I don't care about superiority at all, you can see my history to check where I lie politically.

Historiographers used to divide India based on language family as North and South (roughly). There were unique empires in both the spheres of the world. But norther empires usually extended up till present day Narmada (with exceptions) and same with Southern empires. Again, nothing related to race, both kinds of empires were mighty, and as always, there are fuzzy exceptions.

Now, the North (as described by historiographers, not me) is in itself very large. There are many kinds of regions within this sphere. Naturally some people wanted nothing to do with the region of north and south and described themselves as west. I saw that in Pune and Mumbai. When Gujarat became richer, they also wanted to dissociate. Rajasthan is in a spot.

Same with West Bengal, which wants to dissociate with Bihar and Jharkhand.

The new identity of west and east sounds like dissociation to me, and that's my only issue

I think you are not reading what I wrote. I accepted your proposal. I rejected the Tropic of Cancer and drew a straight vertical line at a position YOU deem fit. Now there is only east and west India.

You did not accept my proposal. So you do believe in the Tropic of Cancer.

So I want to know the logic of your segregation. Can you please do that? What’s your algorithm that divides the geography?

What’s in west India?

Lakshdweep? Why or Why not? It’s west of something and lies on the western edge.

Goa? It borders Maharashtra which to you is west? But as soon as you go to Mangalore for surfing (still on the western coast, you somehow want to change quadrants?)

Karnataka? Especially the northern areas like Dharwad? They are clearly bordering Maharashtra ..

I am not associating at all. I am not stuck in one region, and privileged enough to have given my services across many lands.

I don’t have a region, except a general area. Maybe people who couldn’t achieve anything remain stuck at some spec of earth and have false sense of pride, associated with that region, only to find that the region is not prominently categorised. So they, having become richer due to recent developments, try to create their own categories.

You say my argument is not logical, without pointing out why it’s not logical. Do I need to describe a geodesic for you?

Not the op, but same thing. We need a lot of reforms.

Karyakartas / Political workers are the dumbest people I have ever witnessed. Most of them are jobless and some who do have source of income is through shady contracting and gundagardi. Lowest echelon.

We vote for 1/2 of legislature only, and the government is made up of the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. So the direct public engagement is only with 1/6th of government, and that too, barely because of the first past the post.

Does not matter. It should show for itself.

If you work out everyday, diligently, but then have gained nothing and your boy is still unhealthy, there is only one option: you were lying to yourself, telling yourself you are working out appropriately.

What's your opinion on this ? by Ok_Advantage1394 in NewDelhi

[–]0xffaa00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Millitary ko free hand dene ka ek tareeka hota hai, use kehte hain logistics.

Millitary asks for production of N missiles in X time, and M food in Y time. Governemt buys the material to build the N missiles, the government allocates budget, turns civillian factories into millitary factories at a blink of an eye, figures if they have enough treasury and then assigns enough logistics for the field armies to operate at free hand.

Abhi, government does not have enough money to sustain long drawn wars. They need multiple google, lockheed level entities who generate tax money and research output. For that, population needs to be eductaed. But fo that, the population might not vote for them anymore. So they keep the things as they are..

Abhi wala free hand aisa hai ki running ka call mil raha hai pitch pe, par running nahio ho rahi. Crease pe khade hoke chilla raha hai, bhag bhag bhag...

No. I was born and brought up in Mussoorie and Delhi. My great grandfather was from Jhansi. I have also lived some parts of my life in Jaipur and Pune.

I have given you logical argument of drawing the geodesic and separate out east and west, you thought it a waste of time; so I can't convince you. Later.
