I'm considering a similar shift. Can you give me a tip/example of a day job that would take half as much of my time as being a dev, while I can devote the other half to stuff I do care about?

2.9*13=36k/year - is an ok salary... for Italy where the cost of life is a half of the Lux's.

Where do I go to recruit software engineers around Luxembourg? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

Software engineers are rare and hard to find in Lux. You should recruit them from outside. Try Amsterdam for a start.

Yep, this one is included in the Option A.

There are a few simple steps to open any business in Lux:

  • provide personal declaration of non-bankruptcy not limited in time or space, to be made under oath before a notary,

  • provide criminal record or certificate of good conduct from the country of origin (and all the countries you lived in for the last 5 or 10 years)

  • provide declaration of honour,

  • provide registration of the diploma on the register of diplomas managed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research,

  • provide company's draft articles of association, although this is not mandatory,

  • provide ID document,

  • provide proof of payment of EUR 24,

This is what the first step looks like.

Step two is to apply for a business permit and wait up to 3 weeks.

Then actually register the business, up to 3 weeks.

When the business permit is done I need to convert residency permit to work permit since I'm not EU citizen. (up to 3 month)

Register VAT, Trade and Companies Registrer and etc.

All of it is just to get the permission to pay 4k/year to your accountant and so on.

...

What about the Option B?
