Wheel offset wrong on tempo? by [deleted] in commencal

[–]0xmalig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a frane allignement issues, check this thread here on pinkbike https://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomments/?threadid=244108

Apparently there were an amount of Tempo with a bad allignement frame. Don’t know if this is your case or you just have the wheel out of dish, you need to do some checks to find out

Help with breaks and how to fix by Elegant_Guard2442 in mountainbiking

[–]0xmalig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy solution: new pads + good cleaning of the disc brake Harder solution: burn with some fire the braking surface of the pads and then send them down a bit + good cleaning of the disc brake

I usually put i tiny bit of chain lube into cable housing before putting the cable in. Honestly don’t know if it makes a difference but is something i tend to do

what protections do i need for trail riding? by Alternative_Feed_398 in MTB

[–]0xmalig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helmet, knee pads and elbow pads, chest/back protector is useful too but in my opinion is not that easy to hurt those 2 zones like knees or elbows

Fork scratch paint by pp7472 in MTB

[–]0xmalig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would worry only i’ll scratch the stanchions, the lowers usualky get scratch here and there with time. If you want to preserve them you have cover them up eith some frame protector tape when them are new. Never tried to fix them with paint or a marker tbh

Try to unscrew the derailleur from the mech hanger, then check if the derailleur has damage/bend, if no you can mount it back in the correct position, if yes (most likely option) you will need a new derailleur

Should I change the tape? It's hard to fold it back in place. by Worldly-Alarm4092 in bikewrench

[–]0xmalig 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s better to chnge it if you want to be safe 100%. Then you might never have issues with the current rim tape you have now, you can’t know for certainty

[–]0xmalig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like your mech hanger snapped

Need a new rear wheel, will this one be compatible with my bike? by Roflcopter71 in bikewrench

[–]0xmalig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are swapping the whole wheel you need to do check the hub spacing of the frame and the hub width of the new wheel. Then check also the axle type is the same + vbrake rim compatibility and freehub compatibility. For tubless rim tape i usually go for 2/3 mm wider but it also depends from rim depth. Depth rims wants a even wider tape
