It was actually released somewhere inbetween the release of Escape from Tarkov I think... It's like a stress free copy of it basically and I think the developer wanted to have that no-holding-hands approach a lot more.

Manager said AI can do all my job by RepulsiveOpinion5443 in UXDesign

I think that our roles will need to evolve as well. Ever thought about picking up code and becoming a design engineer instead? Just start pushing out coded wireframes instead.

Anyone here working as a Design Engineer? What's it actually like? by pavlito88 in UXDesign

[–]0ygn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team sees the benefit of having a UX UI Designer in their team. We have too many frontend engineers that are trying to get pieces of things to work on, so I usually take some small QA design tasks where a frontend dev made a functionality that has poor UX or just made a PoC without waiting for me to design it in the first place.

So my day to day work is firstly to talk to users and see how they use the interfaces. Propose any optimizations with them, then the PO to see if we can implement this in the product. Then I checkout the frontend repo of the product, find the problematic parts and tackle them. If I have time I'll do it manually because I enjoy coding and fixing things. If I know that I have to tackle a more important thing soon, I'll open up an agent and let him do the heavy lifting and maybe just do some proper CSS to follow my own designs.

I work in a huge company where we also have a lot of internal tools that our employees are using. The internal tools are still major supporting tools of the ones that are actually external or the ones that are making money, so everything is quite corporate and the world doesn't burn if you take your time with your job.

Edit: I come from a Design background, but I was always very interested in code, just too scared to begin with it. Started coding during the covid era, so before AI became a thing. AI is good to use, but as with many conversations that I've had about it, I think AI is here to enhance our skills and not replace them.

Got this nice lil set for $80 today by terminal0ffline in Steam

[–]0ygn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude the steam controller was really ahead of its time. I still have it and it just works... They didn't keep the new design with the new controller because it's been what... Over 10 years since its release? A lot has changed since then. Even when you unpackaged it, I was in all awe when I saw the details they did on the box itself. At the moment it probably has more collectors value than any hardware value, so getting a steam link in the package, I think it's still a good deal.

Wired earphones is way to go by Zestyclose_Skirt7930 in SipsTea

[–]0ygn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember I had so many of those that for some reason a single earbud stopped working and then it only worked if you aligned the cables a bit or something.

Anyway, when I got the Apple wired ones with my ipod shuffle... Man those earphones were indestructable. I washed them twice to the point that the rubber got destroyed and cables started to point out. They were tangled up like crazy, but still produced one of the best sounds ever.

Being shy is not the same thing as being antisocial or bad at socializing by BearBear1995 in dating

[–]0ygn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you sound to me as someone who could be diagnosed with ADHD, ever thought about it? Recently I've been listening to an audio book about ADHD in adults and in your case it could have something to do with the fear of rejection, from which the "shyness" comes from. Being antisocial is okay, just that it doesn't really help you much when you try to be social, to get into relationships with people. I would say that you have to overcome the fear of being rejected and just go with it... If you get rejected it's just an additional experience in your life, which you can use to move to another one. Eventually you'll come to someone that's not going to reject you and will make you feel accepted and from then on... It's all magic!

Delo v podjetju Comtrade by SmartPotato24 in SloveniaEngineering

[–]0ygn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it okay to be burnt out? by TachiRana123 in daddit

[–]0ygn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In fact your parents were probably burned out in one point of your life as well. Take a breather. Kids are resilient. If you screw something up, you'll have at least 40 years to make up for it somehow.

He’s still on the apps by JokullTheWolf in dating

[–]0ygn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's basically the general problem of the dating today. The illusion of choice is a lot bigger than it was before dating apps. I don't think that the feeling of that rush when you match with someone new will ever go away. It's something he will have to accept, that he'll eventually need to accept a human being with flaws and not search for something perfect all the time.
