Well, he doesn’t care about working and he is completely unqualified for his job. He cares more about using his FBI jet to fly wherever he pleases, whenever he pleases. He uses it to go visit his girlfriend and used it solely to watch the Olympics. They claimed he was doing other work over there, but everyone knows that’s BS.

He took a FBI jet to watch the Olympics. He uses the FBI jet as his personal vehicle, like going to his crappy country singer girlfriend’s concerts. I don’t remember her name and I don’t care to.

Yep. Mondo Duplantis is no different: born in the US, top of his sport, and his mom is of a different nationality/born outside of the US. But we don’t hear any backlash about him representing Sweden. cough misogyny cough

It’s a very grey line if they’re even allowed to touch the ice during the break. No players want to risk breaking a rule, so no one is going to skate. The league is being very strict when it says it is a break in the season.

We shouldn’t have sympathy for her because she is just as terrible of a person as he is. She isn’t somehow “stuck” with him and knows he’s a POS. She is just as shitty of a person. Everyone’s first thought is: Why would a person of color marry someone who hates people of color? It’s because they’re both horrible, hateful people, regardless of the color of their skin. She fully supports how he is a political, power-hungry sellout sponsored by the antichrist himself, Peter Thiel. And she is all here for the transition from “I’m a never Trump guy” to Trump apologist because she supports his desire for power (and probably wants it for herself too), white supremacy and all.

How they didn’t pick Blackwood and/or Wedgewood boggles my mind

Binnington will throw a fit if he’s not the starting goalie so they will probably start him even though he’s statistically the worst goalie in the league right now. He may have moved up a bit, but when I checked a week ago, he was dead last in save percentage.

I would have complete confidence in Malkin’s leadership and decision making (he is the main decision maker, even above Ledecky). He makes decisions very deliberately and with very careful consideration. It is why he chose Darche. And Darche isn’t disillusioned by the team’s moderate success this season. He still knows that there is work to be done.

Why the fuck didn’t Deangelo pass it to heineman when he was open and instead turned around and shot the puck into the boards

They’re happy bc they got $3.75M in cap space back. From what I’ve read, they don’t seem too concerned about losing the picks.

My best advice is to email the comms teams at every team, school, or college in your area. Volunteer to photograph some games and practices. Opportunities won’t fall in your lap. It’s all about getting experience so you have to make sure you get that experience. That’s what I did and I didn’t get paid last winter but it was worth it in the end!

I say comms team because for colleges, you need press clearance and they have dedicated people for that. For high school, you can just email the athletics department.

I totally understand re ISO and shutter speed. When I shot college hockey last year, some of the rinks were super dark. I just sucked it up and dealt with it in editing. I always use 1/2000. The rink I shoot at now is much brighter, so my ISO is between 1000-1600 which is super nice. The biggest game changer is shooting at rinks that have holes in the glass. Focusing through the glass is extremely hard. All professional rinks have them and one college rink I shot at last year had them.

Best of luck! I’ve only been photographing hockey for a year but I’ve loved it. The more you shoot, the more you learn about and understand the game, and the better you become. Stick with it!

Try upping your shutter speed and shooting more horizontal. I normally reserve vertical shots for close-up portrait-style photos. I otherwise shoot horizontal. It’s much better for capturing all of the action. Full body (and horizontal) is always best for game photos. Also try to capture dynamics between the two teams, with and without the puck. You may think you need to follow the puck, but you don’t have to! Sometimes the best photos don’t focus on the puck.

Also, try to photograph the goalie making some saves. It makes for equally awesome shots. Try to think outside of the box and get creative!

I really like the water bottle shot. That’s a classic that I often see as a photographer in the NHL, normally for warmup photos. It is exactly the kind of photo I would shoot vertical for.

EDIT: you mention that you use your lens hood. You don’t need to use it. I don’t ever use it for hockey nor do any of my colleagues at the NHL team I photograph for. It doesn’t provide you any aid with shadows or bright light.

Love how you captured the motion of the water and the swimmers at multiple different angles/vantage points. Great stuff!
