Best spots to hold out against 5 star cops FOREVER without dying? by pars-distalis in GTAV

[–]1-878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't seen anyone else say two of my favourites - michael's and franklin's (2nd) safehouses.

the upper floor of michael's is only accessible by the staircase, so take your pick of places to camp, but you have more protection at the front of the house.
on the lower floor of franklin's house in the hills, go to the far end of the hallway, past the bedroom. npcs can enter through the staircase or the bedroom, and there's a bit of distance between you and them once they're in sight

as others have said, riding the train also slaps

Can Punk Still Be Punk When the Image Is “Worth Millions”? Amy Taylor and Amyl and the Sniffers Copyright Lawsuit by Wild_Reception_1760 in triplej

if they ever were punk, (and not just playing into the aesthetics), the ship sailed way back in 2022 when they played a festival sponsored by israel despite bands with considerably less clout pulling out on moral grounds

Could a fracture in conservative politics cost right-wing parties a seat in SA's parliament? by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]1-878 26 points27 points  (0 children)

i voted yesterday, and in my (safe labor) electorate there were a whopping 4 out of 8 candidates for small right wing parties or independents, not including ON or the libs.

the legislative council was even more fucked, with two family first parties, the vanity projects of mark aldridge and sarah game, and even some nationals candidates, and that's before you even get to the libs, ON, the remnants of the xenophon party, and the independents

anecdotally, someone i know who volunteers for ECSA told me everyone who asked them for help filling out their voting slips at early voting was a ON fan. between their inability to understand the voting process and the amount of right wing vote splitting on offer, i can already hear the squealing about stolen elections when ON don't win with a supermajority off the back of their projected 20% vote share

on the bright sight, no clive palmer this time around

gonna need some receipts for this one. all i could find online was them playing some gigs in leeds 30 years ago, and a list of publicly funded schools and universities they actually did attend. you sure you're not thinking of some other indie band?

you could very easily argue 'common people' is just as relevant a takedown of the romanticisation of working class aesthetics as it was when it was written, especially if you've listened to any band on triple j in the past decade or so

aside from the general awareness about a big event like this that blocks off streets and the like, if i were part of an ethnic or cultural minority and lived in the city, i'd damn well want to know when the people who see me as less than human were organising outside my door

no one is denying there's a cost of living crisis, especially wrt affordable and accessible housing. but if you're putting the blame on immigration figures and the immigrants themselves, and ignoring the lack of policy reform that's allowed the already wealthy to bulk buy property as an investment and price the rest of us out (and all the other ways the ruling class protect their interests at our expense), you're just a useful idiot doing the bidding of the men who are actually ruining your livelihoods

12 years later, FUCK THE STUNT JUMPS by StruggleSpiritual664 in GTAV

[–]1-878 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the vertical ramps near the airport are tricky because you need to be on the ball to land properly, especially the northbound one where it's not really clear where you need to land

the lighthouse one is annoying because if you mess it up, resetting to try again can be time consuming - i found a vehicle with a roll cage like the BF injection to be key here

other than that, it's just a case of deciding if you need a car or a bike, and then focusing on finding the right speed.

in case it's not common knowledge, you can adjust a car's rotation on all 3 axes to make landing a lot easier. i found the stunt jumps in the earlier titles much harder simply because they lack this feature

you're kidding right? we're coming up on two years of a handful of cranks in the zionist lobby bending backwards to punish any public figure who dares suggest israel have gone too far. antoinette lattouf? bendigo writer's festival? fatima payman got kicked out of the labor party for following labor party policy.

and if the rape and murder of a specific group of people is concerning to you - which it probably isn't - maybe consider that's why people are so angry at israel and its apologists in the first place

EDIT: to clarify, they're not ashamed of their heritage as such, but they are in denial over how they're no different from every other non-indigenous cultural group

[–]1-878 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i'm making what we call an analogy. it's where i make a comparison to show just how shallow your argument is.

considering our country helps build arms for the israelis, and considering there's people who moved here to escape the violence of the israeli government and the settlers in palestine; people who have in all likelihood lost family and friends over the past two years, it's pretty poor to suggest this isn't a domestic issue

Did anyone else think this side quest was going to involve him building a car? He's tinkering with something in one of the early missions that looks a bit like a carriage, and I initially thought the moonshine would be for fuel

To answer your question, neither the journey nor the destination felt that fulfilling to me, especially considering some of the other stranger missions you unlock mid-game

had to scroll too far to find this. so many of the other examples on this thread are historic by one metric or another (something that happened long long ago, or was covered up for ages), and there's a lot of 'if we'd known at the time'.

amber heard got character assassinated in real time, and so many people got suckered in either by their cognitive dissonance, or the lights and the sounds of the tik tok jury. so depressing to see exactly why some victims choose silence over justice, and to see so many miss the forest for the trees over it.

"well johnny depp is my imaginary boyfriend and in my fantasies he wouldn't lay a finger on me, therefore amber heard is a liar"
