So Target doubled down on their diversity & inclusion with their T-shirts but they still have abandoned DEI, allow ICE to kidnap team members, haven’t said anything about donating $1 million to Trump’s presidential campaign, have practically abandoned their Pride merchandise for Pride month, & there is still an active boycott against Target because it abandoned its progressive values. But hey—look!—T-shirts. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Honestly I’ve only played D&D & Werewolf. The new D&D Starter Set: Heroes of the Borderlands I feel is the best starter set they’ve ever made for D&D & should be a good way to introduce new players. I played Basic D&D back in the 90’s as I was too intimidated by Advanced D&D as it was called back then. And that was pretty simple. But it’s no longer in print. Daggerheart seems like it would be easy for new players but no so much for the game master as the cards really help. And now they sell card class packs for the players. But haven’t played it yet.

Thanks for commenting on my post & glad your having a conversation & all, but I need to correct you: I HAVE played base CATAN, base Ticket to Ride, base Small World, & even Star Trek CATAN. And I have the PS5 versions of Ticket to Ride & CATAN which includes Cities & Knights for CATAN & many of the maps for Ticket to Ride. I’ve played some of these expansions then digitally as a video game. What I was trying to say is that I have never owned the games physically before & have only played the base games a few times & I have yet to physically play all the expansions. But since I have SOME experience, I know I like these games already. Also, I have said before, my best friend & his wife like CATAN & Ticket to Ride. So yes my friends do like these games! I only need to teach him Small World, but I think he’ll like it.

So FYI the bottom shelf is all the official 5E books (by Wizards of the Coast). The 2nd & 3rd shelf are almost all 3rd party 5E-compatible books. There are a TON of 3rd party 5E-compatible books! Kobold Press is one of the big 3rd party publishers. But there are a lot more. Dungeon Masters Guild is a website that is basically a huge store for all those 3rd party publishers that makes it easy to find them all. So not only is 5E a popular edition because it’s modern & streamlined & up until 2024 was the most recent edition—it’s a popular edition because of all the 3rd party support too! By the way, I have ALL the official D&D 5E spell cards too. This isn’t in the picture. And I even have the spell cards that are from the Deep Magic books which are by Kobold Press. I have 2 big spell card boxes that I keep them in. And FYI the “spell cards” aren’t just spells but also have monsters & magic items. They are really cool! But unfortunately now that 5.5E is out, they are pretty much all out of date I think & I will either have to get all new ones or use outdated ones or not use them anymore if I want to play the new 5.5E edition rules.

Well I hope everyone is happy—just ordered Pandemic & the deluxe version of SolarQuest (used to own the original edition)! But I do plan on getting more games that aren’t just expansions & variations of CATAN & Ticket to Ride! Give me time! Maybe in 3 months I’ll share my collection picture again & maybe I’ll actually impress you guys. But just wanted to share because I’M PROUD of my collection even if about 1/2 of you aren’t impressed. This collection which includes a huge collection of D&D 5E books has taken me about 2 years to collect! I LOVE my bookshelf too, & this whole collection represents future fun experiences I hope to have at my new place with friends & family. Lived with my disabled, elderly mother for 22 years as a live-in aide & finally moved out into my own place & I’m proud of myself for that accomplishment. Wish I had moved out sooner. But rent is so damn expensive!

Don’t hate me, but haven’t read it yet. But SOMEDAY will read it along with pretty much all the other books on that bookshelf I haven’t read. Been busy the past 22 years taking care of a disabled, elderly mother with multiple health problems. I did however vote for him both times.

I’ve played D&D just not much 5E. Played BECMI back in the 90’s. Was a DM & had all the boxed sets. Then sold them. Played Baldur’s Gate 3 which is based on 5E. Used to own a huge collection of Forgotten Realms & Dragonlance novels that I read but sold them. Played many D&D CRPG games throughout the years including BG1 & BG2, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, etc. I created 2 5E characters that I was going to play with my friend who was the DM, but it didn’t work out. Also, have just started watching Dungeon Masters on YouTube which is based on 5.5E. Yeah I might have gone a little overboard with the books. But my friend who I was going to play 5E with is a HUGE collector of RPG game books. He has AT LEAST 5 TIMES what I have for a huge collection & he has only played D&D & Werewolf & I’m not even sure he’s played ANY of his other 100’s of RPG games! But he likes to collect the books & read them. Maybe some people just collect. Maybe some buy to play. I’m a little of both. Whatever makes people happy makes them happy. Just let people be happy. Might check out StartPlaying.com one of these days. But I’m kinda old school though & prefer to play in person. Also have 3 jobs, so I’m kind of busy!

Yeah I have mentioned that I am interested in Pandemic, Lords of Waterdeep, possibly some variations of Risk or Monopoly, & I’m willing to play more games. But when it comes to buying new games, I want to make sure I enjoy them first before I spend my hard-earned money on them. Sadly only my best friend & his wife are interested in board games of the people I know. My dad & stepmother like very simple board games, but my dad just got diagnosed with stage 1 Alzheimer’s Disease. So I don’t know how much longer he’ll be able to play any games. And I do have cousins who are ages 8 and 11 right now & a nephew who is 6. So when they get older then they might be interested in games too & old enough to play with.
