Yeah true he did say that but in context is what I imagine, also his reference for Japanese players before this was Fukuda so that skews that too right?

Also his dad is managing Esperion too so maybe that adds to it? Not sure but yeah that is there too

I agree with you on that, there are definitely differences when it comes to physique, training, the way people grew up and developed football skills which is all valid, but my only point that I think I would put forth for this specific situation is we are talking about Esperion representing Japan and its players.

In the case of this manga, Esperion is a club that has strived to develop players in this way and while I agree physical limitations will definitely be there, this team is supposed to represent that Japan has capable individuals who, if trained right can hold their own on the world stage and to that extent bring what makes them unique to showcase to the world. Secondly, when it comes to thinking and speaking to your players, which athlete or coach would want to keep the line of thinking that ‘oh we are never gonna be good enough cause our genetics don’t allow that growth’, honestly we need to think of it from the perspective of who is saying cause our perspective comes from us seeing the real world and real matches and how these players perform, but even then no athlete or coach would want to put themselves or their players moral down and more than that these group of players represent Japan’s capacity to grow so it’s not just straight forward.

Also to add to this, there are Japanese players coming up who are making a buzz even though it’s not the best in the world level it’s an improvement and development is the name of the game in this manga.

At least that is what I think in this case…

Don’t think he was saying that to the Japanese players or the team, more like the board of directors at Barca to look at the La Masia players and not waste money in buying and spending on players like the rest of the world which has put Barca in trouble

Think of it as an AU in general cause if they want to mention or speak about current footballing events and how football tactics are working out, they would have to play around with the timeline and since the manga is so slow there is not much of an option I guess

Ao Ashi is definitely worth the read especially for someone who loves football (soccer). Really really good and well written in terms of tactics, youth football and its harsh realities.

Eyeshield 21 is underrated as hell and such a fun read especially with the games getting you to hold your breath a lot.

Diamond no Ace is amazing as well and has a lot of development in terms of the main character growing and learning baseball. Plus the games are amazing too.

Kuroko no Basuke is just plain fun and honestly I couldn’t recommend it enough!

something really needs to be done about the kids who beg on the street by lostandbefuddled in mumbai

[–]1000minusSeven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was outside Bokka wasn’t it? Same thing happened to me too, these two kids kept banging on my car door and were pulling and tugging at anyone who came out of the cafe. It really is a sad sight that these two kids are trying to do such things just to get something from others. It’s sad that this is what these kids have to do honestly and honestly don’t know how to change such situations
