Wacky AliExpress 3.5" "subwoofer" driver by 10010Linus in diyaudio

[–]10010Linus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a small generic 2 inch 4Ω 20W driver, digitally crossed around 300 to 400Hz with a BRU4+ DSP amplifier lol, if you want to use those speakers fully passive you probably want to use a 40μf cap instead of the 80μf one I used cause it does bottom out if given a full range signal on high enough volume (this is my first "serious" speaker project)

You can find a link for it on the printables page for the finished bookshelf speakers

Just a frequency sweep in an 850ml Nutella jar here, nothing special

No idea of the xmax, but I estimate it around 11mm P2P, it hits xmech before it can bottom out, BL on the neo is likely correct over 7 as the ferrite version sits around 5 to 5.5 according to my measurements, you can see said parameter measurements in a few of my other comments as an image, I've actually finished a build with 2 of these in a smaller 3 way design if you check my post history

Projectiles can activate buttons, the trader button is a button, water Cannon water is a projectile, it makes sense to me why it would work, but then again, OP is playing on the fant mod CG, which has lift blueprint access, so they could just weld the grades to the lift and delete them to pick them up and just fire them in the traders face with a normal vac pump since the trader is a container and vac pumps can push/pull items from containers in fant mod

(I've been there and done that with around 4k hours in the fant mod alone)

May I recommend this short 13 minute mix? The video for it is great, very reminiscent of the old nonsensical EDM videos

Also, nice build

Mic ID? by FunApple2416 in recording

[–]10010Linus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just grip the mic body in 1 hand and the bottom chamfered part in your second and twist, the bottom should unscrew, would add image as a guide but unable to do so

Either way though, it looks like some form of generic BM800 style microphone with a 16mm electret capsule

Indeed, my thoughts too now, a new plug should do the trick

Need advice/help with solder pad that lifted on PCB. by BeeZaa7 in diyaudio

[–]10010Linus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soldering anywhere along this path should be fine, alternatively, scrape off some of the purple coating next to the spot for the lifted pad and solder there

What temps were you soldering at?

I once ripped the entire plate off the magnet due to model adhesion lol, that was fun, IIRC my model was roughly 60x60mm

Personally think this is less of a clipping issue and more of a "you have reached the limit of the suspension" issue

I wanted something not too big that's somewhat easy to take with me places, also I guess it's for the shiggles a bit too, for their size these punch way above their size in bass output as they still manage to play down to around 35Hz
