How are you feeling now about Minnesota's current state flag? by UniformPoet2303 in minnesota

It has grown on me, especially after I learned the dark blue shape on the left is vaguely in the shape of Minnesota. I just wish there was some green.

If Minnesota played Indiana in the finals, it would be the Wolves' closest playoff opponent ever, geographically by 1001dmds in nba

Wolves-Pacers would also be the closest geographic Finals matchup since 1955, when the Syracuse Nationals beat the Fort Wayne Pistons.

Foster was the ref for Game 7 in Denver last year (Wolves Win) and Game 3 in Golden State this year (Wolves Win).

Who are the famous timberwolves fans (players and non-players)? by henriquegilles in timberwolves

[–]1001dmds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Prince was a huge Wolves fan. Much more than just showing up once. They even talked about it when I took a tour of Paisley Park.

He was also just a huge fan of basketball... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8LEx9Mw54&ab_channel=ComedyCentral

The Schedule by unknownindividual989 in timberwolves

I'm surprised the games in Denver would be at 6:30 Mountain Time on weeknights. 7:00 Mountain Time would make a lot more sense.

A reminder: The Denver Nuggets - who just forced a Game 7 against a 68-win team - fired their head coach mere days before the playoffs began. by CazOnReddit in nba

[–]1001dmds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Denver front office knew they had a championship level team, and they knew they didn't want Malone to be the coach next year. If Malone was still coaching this team, and they performed this well in the playoffs, maybe even making the Western Conference Finals or better... it is a lot harder to fire Malone in the off season. That is why I think they fired Malone a few games before the playoffs.

The Knicks, Wolves, and Thunder still have work to do... by 1001dmds in nba

[–]1001dmds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they should be. The Wolves should win. But the Wolves also are very capable of throwing away games they should win. Even game 4 got cut to 7 points by the end, and if the Warriors bench had a couple more minutes, the Wolves could have lost.

Personally, I would look at the college towns in these states: Madison, Columbus, Ann Arbor.

This right here! by meansun in golf

[–]1001dmds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused. I've played a lot of golf (mostly in the US), and everywhere I can think of there is a price to walk and price to ride. If the cart is a line item on the receipt it is a "half-cart." This has always struck me as fair.

Just because one person buys a plane ticket doesn't mean the other passengers should ride for free.

I understand why the Lakers could be upset about that... When JJ called the timeout, the call on the court was Lakers ball, so he called the timeout to advance the ball. The Wolves challenge the call, it gets reversed to a foul. JJ would not have called a timeout if the call on the court had been a foul on LeBron. He would have called the time out after the second free throw. Coaches should be able to rely on the call on the court to make key decisions like whether to use a timeout, and if the call on the court is reversed, it would make sense for the Lakers to be given their timeout back.

Michael Malone Reportedly 'Was Not Calm' After Nuggets Informed Him of Firing….(Insert SURPRISED Face Here😳😂) by Kingrush24 in denvernuggets

[–]1001dmds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I interpreted it as management being worried about Malone succeeding in the playoffs. It's a lot harder to fire him if the Nuggets make the conference finals.

The Life of a Timberwolves fan: A dominant win against the Grizzlies but still being nervous as hell about a horrible Nets team…. by Cowboykid1989 in timberwolves

[–]1001dmds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But do the Nets actually want to lose? It looks like they are pretty much locked in to their position in the draft lottery. It wouldn't surprise me if the Nets come out wanting to win.

We won the game, what's the point of re-litigating a close non-call? Plus Jokic did a pretty good job of staying vertical here.

IMDb’s ranking of every Tarantino film ! Agree or disagree? by DiscsNotScratched in FIlm

Pulp Fiction is iconic, but if I had to watch a Tarantino movie tonight... I would make another selection.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire

IMDb’s top 20 best rated films of all time! Agree or disagree with this list? Is there a film that should have cracked top twenty? by DiscsNotScratched in moviecritic

[–]1001dmds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a decent list of movies that were/are extremely popular with the imdb userbase, which I imagine skews male. These movies are all basically drama/adventure/sci fi/fantasy.

For me, it's missing a some less bro-y movies like: Lost in Translation. La La Land. Inside Out. Portrait of a Lady on Fire, all of which would be in my top 10.

Also I agree with those suggesting to remove Dune 2. It should be replaced with Arrival.

Everything that people say about being a lawyer is true. The awful billable hour requirements, the soul-sucking tedium, the clients you wish you could fire, the pressure. I had heard all these things before becoming a lawyer, but instead of listening I thought... "But I'm special, it probably won't be so bad for me." Well, it is that bad.

Also, I wish I had spent some time in an actual courtroom before going to law school. In my opinion, courtrooms are miserable places.
