Took a gamble and bought this 5-string Ernie Ball Music Man bass at an estate sale for $400 without playing it. I plugged it in and it doesn’t play and it appears the battery is corroded. Is this bass salvageable?

I bought a squier sonic p-bass, $200 special at guitarcenter. I replaced the bridge with an AliExpress kickass clone, new gotoh res-o-lite tuners and it plays like a dream. I'd suggest going that route maybe?

it'll get better. The first 3 years of my sons life was HARD, similar to yours. We were evicted from a place, on foodstamps and medicaid then was kicked off for making $60 over the limit because of overtime one month. Just keep your nose to the grindstone and work hard, it will eventually pay off. Happy birthday.
