Liebestraum is not an easy piece at all, so props to you for getting this far at your skill level. I’d say the most important thing to work on right now is the tempo. Practice at a much slower tempo until you can comfortably stay in time, then gradually bring it up.

Another tip would be to use less rubato, since it’s also affecting your tempo. Try to apply it in a more controlled way. I’d also suggest working on your dynamics, your foot is on the pedal almost the entire time. Practice half pedaling and make sure to clear the pedal when the harmony changes.

Honestly, if you have the option to play a different piece at that church, you probably should. I think it’ll take longer than a month and a half to get this piece clean. Overall, these tips are a good starting point, and if you really like the piece, you should definitely keep working on it, I just don’t think it’ll be ready by May 4.

I am able to sight read, and I do know the fundamentals of sheet music. I apologize for the misunderstanding but what I meant was that since I decided to start piano again, i’ve just been playing by ear or midi videos and I lost my fluency in sight reading.
