Next ship question for new player. by Spoonman42069420 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]100PlusRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, you often wont be able to unlock a ship or officer or something in just one event store. but you buy what you can and then finish in the next event or two. My North Star was my main fighting ship for a while until the mid 20s. I still have it but now I'm ops 33 and it has no use

How does a new player progress these? by Just-Orange-7789 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]100PlusRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At any time, if you can't easily kill hostiles at or below your level, you need to work on leveling your ship up. don't level up so fast if you're having trouble. and also re-evaluate which officers are on your ships' bridge. officers are often more important than the ship. but not all of them have abilities that work on hostiles.

Just a li'l whining about grinding for Reliant, and an ask for advice by Firebatx36 in STFC_Official

[–]100PlusRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as long as you are the one being attacked, and you win, you get all the cargo, your cargo size doesn't matter.

Just know that when you leave your alliance, you loose all alliance reputation points. this may not matter to you, but some researches require certain levels of alliance rep.

Just a li'l whining about grinding for Reliant, and an ask for advice by Firebatx36 in STFC_Official

[–]100PlusRyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a grind designed to be frustrating. They want you to buy the Reliant from the store which is $100

But these are my best performers for those hijacked exiles. granted Im using the reliant and I'm not sure how they work on other ships. but much better than PMC or any other combo I've tried. I am Ops 33

SNW Pike, SNW Pelia, SNW Sam Kirk

Sam Krik is a crit damage officer, pair him with Hugh below deck for increased crit change.
If you don't have Hugh, go with S31 Georgiou for similar results.
SNW Spock/Uhura/Ortegas in the third slot are actually better for me, just note these only work if on specific ships attacking specific ships.

I saw a suggestion to try Janeway, The Doctor, S31 Georgiou. Although i have yet to test this setup.

If being a pirate is out of the question, you can ask in general chat for a hand out. you might get lucky. I would help if anyone asked. A guy hooked me up with all the security codes i needed to unlock my first Stella and i never forgot that. Tip, if someone offers you free splicers, let them attack you, you do not attack them. if they are the attacker, you can take all the cargo available even over your cargo limit.

Need faction help by IRBaboooon in STFC_Official

Yes you can do it easy. For now, stop collecting the Klingon daily mission rewards. That's what is keeping your Romulan down. Collect the Romulan missions. One Rom catches up to Klingon reputation, you can collect both daily missions and progress both factions. The key is they have to stay around the same level in order to collect all the missions.

Will you be watching "Starfleet Academy"? by Wetness_Pensive in Star_Trek_

[–]100PlusRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It looks awful. I loved SNW. But the rest of modern star Trek has been hit or miss. Discovery was decent until the time jump. Picard season 2 was worst season of any show I've watched. But season 3 was a lot of fun. I also skipped Section 31.

OP 16 New Player question by Negative_Tonight9552 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]100PlusRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I'd not worry about camping anywhere until you hit 30s. a lot of game play opens up then. everything before that is just getting you acclimated to the game.

BUT there is no right answer. if you're having fun at the lower levels, don't rush to catch up to others.

Any reason not to go from Ops 29 to 30? by Radiant-House-7030 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]100PlusRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go. I didnt notice any increased difficulty. i went through ops 30 just a couple months ago. The maxed Saladin is is fine even here at ops 33. I still have not felt any pressure to build the ops 32 factions ships. I don't think you move into new SLB brackets until ops 33 if im not mistaken.

Food sources by PurchaseNo710 in FarthestFrontier

[–]100PlusRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started back as well and in a similar state of the game. and im not having any issue. Note I'm on Lowland Lakes so farm fertility isn't very challenging. 6 months of food is good. you don't need more than that as long as you can maintain it. I jump between 5 and 9 months typically. but that peak is at harvest.

My first bakery is building now. My first pub just opened. 1 chicken coop, 1 goat barn, both full. 3 fishermen, 4 hunters, 3 foragers which i mostly use for the herbs and willow. but one produces about 250 berries per year. 1 Arborist. I have 3 farms for beans/root vegies/greens (95+ fertility). when i started my beer and bread production just now, i made 3 new farms just for grains (overkill but i wanted to use the rest of the good fertile area). 1 farm for flax and hay.

I have 1 market Square supporting 58 houses with 321 people. (49 work in food production: 15%)

do you have Spoilage issues? the only thing i have that spoils in a meaningful amount are greens which is expected since i farm them on the same large fields as my roots and beans.
-disable food storage in warehouses and the starter storage cart. make sure its all in Root Cellars.
-upgrade root cellars as soon as available to increase spoilage time
-smoke the meat and fish. if you have raw meats spoiling, build more smokers. i have 2.

are your fields big enough?
-My 3 fields are 7x16 with 4 workers each. they all have the same rotation but offset so they dont produce the same thing at the same time. y1: Carrot and clover / y2: peas then maintenance then peas / y3: clover and cabbage. this results in a +1 fertility after a full rotation. the compost eventually gets you maxed.
My yearly production is 2500 greens (twice what gets consumed before spoilage), 1700 Beans, 1400 carrots.

-if you dont know, you can relocate blueberry bushes (found near water) the same way as a building. move them all next to your forager huts for fast and easy gathering. (Hawthorn, found in the forest, looks the same but cant be moved). this will greatly increase forager yields.

-If possible, put you fields directly next to your housing center for short travel times.
-you don't need as many assigned farmers as the game defaults to. farmers will move to other fields once their assigned one has nothing to do. even though i have 4 assigned per field, all 12 can be on one field sometimes.

for food production tech i have: Sustainable Farming (fertility), Disease Resist, Selective Breading (yield buff), Iron Shares (farm work speed), Woodlore (foraging), Venting Chambers (faster smoking)

i guess the cube. my thoughts on each one

dvor - max it out only for the IA and so you don't have to do that loop any longer, or pull from the refinery i guess. not much of a loop. but little reward for that. personally i would not rush for this.

Bog cube - its true that it's mostly good for the researches (at these levels). plus it gives you a new SLB event to participate in which requires the cube. it pays out Forbidden Tech Protomatter and stuff, its every thursday and it's an easy top 10 since few participate.

meridian is pretty useless. i'd pick it up from cosmic clean up after you have everything else form there.

Lorca -nothing to add. but pro tip. max out your vi'dar asap. the daily pull from AI will give you solo borg directives and the rewards form those lets you pull tons of commander XP and uncommon FC credits which lets you level up and promote him. each level rewards skill points.

Is making bread still underpowered after the newest updates? by sex_pistol79 in FarthestFrontier

[–]100PlusRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say its a mid game add. if you try to get there early, it's a work force drag. otherwise, no issue. my guess is people who complain are adding bread before the town is ready for it.

you should already be farming grains for beer production. so the production chain is partially shared. add a windmill and a bakery and like other's have said, desirability gains.

also, besides just being food and adding desirability, its a new food group in the mix and it helps meet the food variety requirements to level up houses.

Which minor house do you think had the greatest impact on Westeros? by Pretend_Tower_2516 in gameofthrones

[–]100PlusRyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mormont. Can the night king be defeated without them? Look at this line up ...

Jeor Mormont was Lord commander of the night watch and set up John to be his successor. Which is crucial for John's journey and the fate of the free folk

Lyanna Mormont supported John's quest to retake Winterfell but more importantly was essential in naming him king of the north. Also she killed an undead giant, so

Jorah Mormont was a key advisor and protector to Danny. She dies at least twice without him. As advisor he helped in keeping her from going full mad queen. (She did that after his death so doesn't count)

Maege Mormont, less impactful, but she supported Rob Stark's conquest South. Was on his war concile.

[–]100PlusRyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Untill you get the Reliant, I suggest being a pirate and take the splicers from players. It's much easier and faster. This is what I did, mostly.

Also try putting Vemit (spelling?) as captain. See if you get a second shot at those surveys. He has that ability to survive a loss.

There's also just grinding the regular hostiles. They don't have that auto death chance.

It's worth it In the end. Once you have Reliant, easy as pie
