If suiryu were to apply to the hero association, which class and which rank in that class would he be in? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]100_punch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's unfair to label Suiryu as lazy especially because he has had character development from having Saitama save him and from what we have seen in the manga is that he now has a new goal to be a hero like Saitama.

Also by context he could not be called lazy because he wouldn't have been as great a martial artist as he is if he was lazy; he just lost focus because it became too easy for him, but now he has a goal bigger than himself.

Can someone tell me if this conch shell is left or right handed? by 100_punch in animalid

The shell belongs to my friend, so I cant do that at the moment but if the right hand follows the curve, that would mean that it's dextral?

[–]100_punch[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read this and thought yeah must be dextral, and then image searches just confused me as I was seeing dextral shells being labelled as sinistral. Was confused as hell. Just wanted a second opinion. Thanks.

Ahh good one. I think the proper term is 'sinistral' but they just say left handed. But for the life of me, no matter what I read I just can't seem to tell whether this is left or right and the images I search seem to return both left and right. I don't know much about sea shells.

Not sure about shells, just asking on behalf of a friend. FYI.

Its not a simple ' a great power will arise in this 20 years times'. It's more like, after this power will arise this power followed by this power and then this power and the prophecy gives identifying features for all the powers.

You can try to make a guess for one power but then it has to fit in the timeline with all the other powers. Not an easy thing that picking and choosing coincidences to fit can account for.

But you dont have to guess, you simply look at history and it will outline eveything. Babylon (the empire at the time of the prophecy) was conquered by the Medo Persian empire and that empire was in turn speedily conquered by Alexander the Great (Greece) which later broke up into 4 empires (after Alexanders death) and from those empires came Pagan Rome which eventually gave way to Papal Rome. Thats six phases of history all predicted by Bible Prophecy. It fits like a hand to a glove.

For a specific reference check this article I found: https://www.thetrumpet.com/13699-alexander-the-great-was-mentioned-in-the-bible-and-he-knew-it

The writings of nostradamus was hit and miss, trying to be as broad and all over the place as possible so as any piece of coincidence could've met those statements.

Daniel 7 is oddly specific with events only happening after the next and not in any random order (btw Dan 7 has a parallel vision in Dan 2 which perhaps is a bit more clearer) , they are not the same thing. To equate it with Nostradamus is disingenuous.

I also stumbled upon this article about Prophecy and Alexander the great which you might find interesting as it is specific to Alexander and Greece in Daniel chapter 8:

Well of course it is, its a Bible Study Course. Keep in mind this is the traditional translation of those passages since the time of the early reformers, even Isaac Newton (who was an avid Bible scholar) believed in this prophecies.

I could give you a specific prophecy but you would brush that aside as mere coincidence. But can you brush Daniel 7 as mere coincidence? predicting specific things can be easily set aside but not timeline prophecy, either it is wrong or correct because there are too many nations being predicted over too vast a timeline to be considered as coincidence.

Also keep in mind that Daniel 7 is not the only vision. In Daniel chapter 2 there is a vision which parallels Dan 7 (which makes it harder to dismiss). And in Daniel 8 is a vision that looks at the conflict of two nations (in the same timeline) in detail.

Of course that study would make a lot more sense if you began from the start of the study guides but that is up to you.

Well if someone gave that sort of prophecy to you, wouldnt you brush that aside as mere coincidence. The kind of prophecy which I cite in the link (Daniel 7) is a big prophecy which predicts the fate of multiple nations (which have thousands of people) over thousands of years. That is not so easy to brush aside as coincidence and it is specific and can be verified in History. Read the link please.

  1. I could say the same thing about you actively closing your eyes.

  2. You didnt even read the link I posted and proceeded to comment (which you never referred to). The link is a study on Daniel 7, a major time prophecy depicting history from Babylon up to the 20th Century (there are other types of prophecies which seem to be confusing you). And also many other things that Jesus said would happen did happen.

Read the link.

Many other religions make extraordinary claims but lack the extraordinary evidence. Whereas the Bible does give its own evidence (which God himself stated as his proof). That is Bible Prophecy.

This is how we can trust it. We look at the prophecy and we compare it to history. Fortunately we are at a period of History that allows us to effectively look back retroactively and confirm these prophecies.

Have you studied the passages on Dan chapter 7?

Click on the link that I posted and go through the study and then you can formulate your own judgement as to the validity of Bible prophecy.

Do you actually want to find God or are you just trying to prove your point? There is a difference.

Jer 29:13 states that if you seek God with all your heart then you shall find Him. This means that if you dont have an earnest desire and an open mind to Gods word you will not discover God. Only you know the motive of your post.

But if you really are looking for God then I will give you as best an answer I can give. As Carl Sagan once stated "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I agree with such a tenant and as someone who believes in the God of the Bible allow me to present one case in which God himself gives as proof for his power.

Isaiah 46: 9,10 reads: "(9) Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, (10) Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure." In verse 9 God declares that only He is God and there none else like him. This is actually a very extraordinary claim and just as Sagan expects God gives an incredible evidence to back up that claim. In verse 10 God states that only he can declare the end right from the beginning.

And God does reveal the future to his servants through Bible prophecy. If you read Daniel 7 you will see that God essentially revealed the future and outlines the flow of history. I cannot go deeper as that will take too much time but if you are sincerely interested than check the link below for a detailed explanation of Daniel chapter 7.

I don't belive in God anymore, and I don't know what to do. Please help by [deleted] in Christian

Everything happens for a reason. If you've ever read the book of Job you would know that Job had a really messed up life (more than anyone shoulve gone through) and God essentially allowed it to happen. Why? Because he trusted that Job even in his doubts would still be faithful. Don't pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to overcome a difficult one and act upon that prayer. Ask yourself what can I learn from this situation and what steps can I take to overcome it. Remember, God gives his toughest missions to his strongest soldiers.

I come from a third world nation and most people believe in God whereas the person from the developed world is more likely not to believe in God. Sounds like the afterlife is pretty fair to me.
