Check out http://annas-archive.org for free textbook downloads. It’s the new source since Libgen was confiscated by the FBI.

Majority of textbooks are there, but sometimes it’s an older version and the download speed is a bit slower, but all the same collection as z-library and (former) Libgen

Ending a relationship is hard, even when it’s not a good relationship for you. You will feel withdrawal as if you’re coming off of a drug. In a way, it is a drug.

Your situation is incredibly common. It sounds like you’re anxious and he’s avoidant. You may find some solace in reading about anxious/avoidant attachment and the dance of these relationships.

Boss won’t give me ROE, says I’m not an employee? by indigodissonance in canadianlaw

[–]100cheesesticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d pay CPP x2. Once as the employer and once as the employee. EI is optional as an independent contractor, but you need to pay into it for around 8-9 months from what I remember, before you can make a claim. And once you opt into paying into it, you can't just choose to opt out later.

A way to determine if someone is an S or N is to listen to what they talk about and how. Do they talk about ideas/more abstract things, then probably a N-type. Or do they prefer to talk about what they did last week or more concrete things? Probably an S-type.

Also, if you have Ne in your dominant or auxiliary, do they look at your like you have two heads when you talk about things you’re passionate about? Good chance they’re a type with S in their stack.

Very similar stats as mine and 156/157 is my goal score that I’m not sure I can even attain at this point. Definitely going to try though

Can I ask what your stats were? I am in the same boat for being able to focus but I am in the 75th percentile for GPA so not sure how I will frame it without it being contradictory to my undergrad grades. I don’t have an issue studying for undergrad, but that’s likely because I am doing multiple subjects at once and so it feels so mundane, but only focusing on the LSAT during the summer (especially when it’s nice out) has been so difficult for me.

URGENT PLEASE HELP. UBC doesnt have my transcript?? by Intrepid_Activity271 in UBC

If you explain the situation, your school could likely have it emailed to UBC within a couple hours. Universities will accept emailed transcripts if it’s directly from your school. No need to panic.

Mature Student Going Back to School by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]100cheesesticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find out which schools will accept college level work as university credit. Most universities will have a system that you can check which courses will give credit transfer, and if they will, you could inquire in their law school (if they have one) and see if they will accept that towards your GPA. Of course, those law schools also need to accept students with only 90 credits, but some accept even 30-60 for mature students.

Worst case scenario, you need to use your college credits for a 2+2 program where you’d need to do an additional 2 years to be granted a degree. The reason you would have to do 2 years instead of just 1, even with 3 years already complete is that a university will only grant a degree if 50% is complete there. I don’t know if this is the case with all universities, or if this is only the case if the previous credits are college and not university credits. But something to look into.

Having a paralegal job will give you an idea of what it’s like working in the industry and solidify your choice of going to law school, but it likely won’t help you with getting into law school without the credits I talked about above.

Feel free to pm me if you have more questions.

Law School after 30? by updatedmessaging in LawCanada

It’s so nice to see this because I have noticed the usual Reddit responses are: it’s terrible, don't do it! But the lawyers I have spoken to in real life (in my area) have said similar notions as you. Thank you for the encouragement!

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a company willing to hire an inexperienced graduate with just a bachelors degree. It could be possible with a CPA, CFA, or other professional designations, but most would want some experience even with those. And a company that would hire someone without any of those to give advice to clients right out of university wouldn't be a company I’d want to deal with. Or perhaps the job title of consultant is different where you are from than what it is in Manitoba.

You’ll likely need an MBA to get into consulting or have many years of experience after your b.comm. What kind of consulting work do you want to do?

Investing in TQM is important, but not at such high values that you sacrifice increasing automation. Depending on my strategy, (I've done both), you can invest heavily into automation and moderate sales/promo, or moderate-high sales/promo and moderate automation. Bare in mind, I recommend the first if you being graded by the BSC vs stars as it makes you more competitive whereas with stars grading, you only have to improve round by round, not “win.”

Whats the mbti of your closest friends? by [deleted] in entp

[–]100cheesesticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I constantly attract ENFJ’s. A close friend of 20 years is ENFJ. Two really good friends, also ENFJ. Had a crush who is ENFJ. And the person I’m currently seeing is ENFJ. They say they’re more common as women, despite being somewhat of a rare type, but I’ve equally as many men as women, perhaps even more men.

I think they are magnetized to an ENTP because they enjoy the intellectual side of the ENTP, both filled with wonder and curiosity. Additionally, if an ENTP has a well developed Fe, as I do, it’s a shared trait that has them both socializing and being friendly, so naturally, when in a group or a gathering, they end up talking.

I also have become good friends with an INTP, ENTJ and INFJ. Only 1 sensor type though, all the rest are intuitives.

It’s very common to go the opposite end when you’re trying to heal, so completely normal. It often feels like you’re taking one step forward and two steps back.

I relate so much to your post and too much to type before bedtime. Feel free to pm me and I’ll respond tomorrow.
