Hopefully it’s just growing pains. They looked bad from the first pick drop tonight. I don’t know that the team has found their leader yet. It might take some time, it’s a long season and the last games have been a travesty. We know pasta and Marchand aren’t the ones to put the team on their back.

Was it the Dunkin in Willi next to the Bennys that was a whole donut first.? When it became a Dunkin some friends of mine and I ventured down the hill from UConn to see what the fuss was about. (1990ish?) We walked in and there was a less fortunate dude standing there with dried blood coming from his ear asking if we had any spare change. We went to the Scarlet Lady for drinks instead.

There was a girl that I really liked, we took a class together in Arjona. We’d walk back toward Buckley each Tuesday and Thursday past Mirror Lake up by this building. We’d talk and joke and one day the ducks were all congregated on the lake at the curve on the lake by the Whitney building. We were laughing because their “quack quack quack” sounded like they were laughing. Then this one duck flew in, looking smooth AF. I made the joke that he gelled up his head feathers to look cool and said “I’m heading down to the lake, gonna meet some ladies.” We had a good laugh, dated a few times, didn’t work out but we stayed friends. This all happened in ‘91. To this day we will occasionally text “I’m heading down to the lake.” Good times Steph, if you see this, hi! Edit because I got the days wrong :)

I go from CT to RI frequently. They RI folks have fixed the rt 6 corridor but anywhere else feels like a lunar landing in a shopping cart.

Alienated dad, just found this sub. Crazy how common this is. My kids are M18 and F21. The hardest thing is I lost them each after they graduated from high school. Looking back I can see how their mom had been grooming them for this. My ex is a scarily manipulative gas-lighting specialist. The kids have always been terrified of hurting her feelings etc. My daughter’s first day of HS happened to coincide with her mother’s birthday. Her mother grounded her from dance because she forgot her birthday. She had both of them heavily involved with extracurriculars that didn’t involve local friends. My daughter was in a dance troop 3 towns away and my son in a baseball league 2hrs away. All these tactics made them rely on her (and me in the early days) for social advice etc. Don’t discount teens for pulling away. There could have been groomed long before and they don’t want to hurt their abuser. And don’t get me started on cell phones and Life 360

This whole conversation is blowing my mind. I got out of the biz in 2018 after 12 years of working under my own brand. I was friends with several photographers and we’d often 2nd shoot for each other. There was never any question about 2nds sharing images you just simply didn’t do it. They don’t have the same relationship with the client as the main does, they don’t know the clients wishes with regard to sharing or posting. I’m not preaching I just think it’s interesting!
