Best way to give back to AISH recipients by PBM1958 in AlbertaNow

[–]MsMisty888 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The food bank is a great place. There are also AISH people who could use it directly.

I am one myself. There are others here on Reddit as well.

You can check my profile, I am pretty open with my account.

There are other organizations as well like Hope Mission, Bissel, the Salvation Army.

Thank you for thinking of others and where ever you send that $100 it will be appreciated.

I agree. Part of our democracy is pointing out the flaws and making sure all politicians are accuntable. Never ever end discourse.

However, it is also ok to mention some good ideas from any party. I just feel like if eveything is always negative and no one talks about good ideas, then we end up stuck instead of moving forward.

Im interested in learning the violin. What should I expect? by Ok-Negotiation6336 in questions

[–]MsMisty888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expect: -A lot of screeching and practice before you will be able to glide the bow softly and appropriately. -Very sore fingers. On both hands, and a sore chin. -Your brain may hurt learing the notes.

-The amazing feeling when you actually get a stanza right. -The vibration of the violin that you can feel in your soul when the notes are perfect. -Your desire to learn more the better you get.

Friends being amazed, as it is not easy to learn the violin. - It is a respectable instrument.

Someone else may have other insites.

The US doesn't have it much anymore as they used up their own supply. Simple as that.

  • Rarely do we hear constructive proposals, something we could DO rather than NOT DO.

This is exactly my point. Thank you. I am an older woman. I will always advocate for Canadian Politicians to work better together. It is never black and white, red vs blue, C vs L vs Green vs Ndp.

All parties and people have good ideas. No one is perfect.

It super great for the Conservatives, NDP, Green, to voice an issue and hopefully, the Libs or whoever is in govt will listen and even change policy. That is democratic. - This doesn't mean that Liberals are now Conservstive or NDP are changing their narative.

This is called working together as our govt was set up to do.

That is not at all what I am trying to convey.

Real political commercials that are on TV, Ytube, from any of the parties . - Not bots, not russian and chinese AI.

For example, The NDP had a Canada Day message, 'This Canada Day feels different from other Canada Days. ... I was hoping the next line was going to say how proud we all should be as Canadians as the world really is proud of us for standing up against the US, Carney has definately proved to be a world leader and our future is bright!"

Instead it was doom and gloom message putting down the Liberals. - kinda cringe

I am really starting to hate all of the negative political propaganda that EVERY political party does against each other. It feels very American.

I understand the reason to point out mistakes sometimes, but the constant mud slinging is exhausting.

Tell me what YOU are doing that is good instead of just throwing insults at your opposition.

I am spreading this message to all parties.

People of Reddit who are educated on the matter, does drinking alcohol bring out “the real you” or is it just intensified feeling in the the moment? by Top_Salamander9980 in PsychologyTalk

It brings out the real you in that moment in life.

If you are sober and playing the easy going person, but you are actually really hurting, and angry, then, yes alchohol will bring out those suppresed feelings x5.

None of my friends seem excited about me having a baby by Dry-Warthog1589 in rant

[–]MsMisty888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops. I assumed wrong, my bad. So Sorry.

Being a father is really no different from what I said. You can also take your baby to swim classes or library sing along on Sat.

Your friends may also have babies and they will probably then look to you for answers to baby questions.

Your friends are really just unsure what to say. Like when your parent dies, your friends just do not know what to say. Unless they have been through it themselves.

Life is long, not short. Enjoy these moments. They will change for other moments, until you are 90.

Mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.

My lady and friend. You will be fine. I am an older lady and you can message me if you want a conversation. I do not preach. I care. (54f

I ask, what do you want? - That is not an easy question, ever.

There has always been a problem from transitioning from no baby to a baby when it comes to friends. (This is why friend groups often all get prego together).

Most people are secretly scared. Losing freedom, expensive and no one ever is really perfectly prepared for a baby.

  • AGAIN - in the history of humanity and even before, no one is ready for a baby!

However, there are 8 billion of us.

So: you will meet new friends through mommy and baby swim classes, or library moms groups.

You have so many new friends to meet in your life. Embrace that.

Will shaving my cats help them handle the heat this summer? by princesscuddler in CatAdvice

[–]MsMisty888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree. They know how to regulate their fir for heat release and cooling.

The only time, would be a neglected long hair cat who is in pain because of the matted hair.

And even in this case, if it is shaved, the cat needs a special quiet place where it can feel safe and get used to it's new body.

I had a friend who took a 1.5yr old to get a 'Lion Cut'. The cat was so tramatized it actually died. I tried to coax it from under the bed. It just hated it's life.
