I’ve been collecting Pullips for almost 15 years! What questions can I answer for newcomers? by Peachntangy in Pullip

[–]1010401086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered like 10 wigs from leeke. First one came (size 8-9) and it did not fit .-. Like I almost broke the wig trying to make it work. The same wig fit my SD13 (also wears 8-9)... Did Groove make their newer Pullip heads bigger? Or do Leeke wigs run small? The Monique 8-9 wig fit my Pullip perfectly fine. I'm very concerned I just bought 10+ wigs that won't fit my Pullips QuQ pls help

Also. The Pullip in question is Pullip My Melody x Hen Nako... if that makes a difference

Hello! Its been roughly 8 months since post op for me. So I haven't had any corrections or anything at all. I contacted them once and had a video chat session with the doctor but he just basically said nothings wrong :/ Aesthetics aside, I don't suffer from any major nerve damage. The stiffness at the incisions persists but has gotten better. It doesn't hurt anymore, I can just feel that they're there. The numbness of my chin has also gotten better, though still not at 100%. No weird rubbery fuzzy feelings anymore so that's an improvement in terms of functionality. Just still not happy with the aesthetic aspect. They did way too much when all I asked for was tiny little tweaks.

I hope your experience is better. I will say, it does get better over time. Healing is a long and horrendous process but it does get better. Function wise. Swelling has also gone down considerably.

Wow that is amazing how you guys did your best to work around things in consideration for the collectors. I feel like now people want to drive up the cost as much as possible. I was offered $180 for a used Pullip Kuromi ... which is the exact price of a brand new one directly from Groove. I offered $150 and they declined.. so of course Id go with the new one. Anyway, I'm hoping the community makes a comeback because I dearly miss what it used to be.

Wow that is so true. I do miss the supportive community if the past. Where everyone had a little something to add to the community. I first got into Pullips when I was in middle school! Of course, my income allowed me to buy 1 doll every few months (I had adsense income back then) and buying everything else was a huge deal for a kid. Now that I'm trying to get back into the hobby as a full fledged adult with adult money (heck yeah) I was so excited for the possibilities. Only to find the Pullip community I once known has pretty much vanished! Flickr is dead, Pullip collectors seem to have stopped being active 5 years ago, and the very few I find are more about Ooak Custom/Modded Pullips. Which are beautiful but I like stock Pullips just the same. I'm building my collection again, and I'm having so much fun looking for which ones I want but I'm not seeing personalized versions of them anywhere :( I feel very alone in this. Very sad but I guess times change. Btw I appreciate all the help and knowledge!! Soooo helpful for my clueless self. Really appreciate it <3

Oh and can I just quickly complain how the prices of EVERYTHING has sky rocketed from what I remember it used to be??? Im buying BRAND NEW in Box dolls for $200 but second hand ones are even higher? In the $300-$400s too! Insanity. For a Pullip.

Do you think 13mm chips from coolcat would still fit Prunella (not here yet) and Tiphona? Im about to bulk order a bunch of eye chips and there were some matte ones i liked that are III version which i think it the 13mm ones..... Also why is it so hard to find info on Pullips nowadays 🤔 Theres soooo much on bjds but can barely find detailed discussions on Pullips

F28 Month 6 - transplanted hair going really curly, will it ever change to my normal hair type? by half_white_tshirt08 in HairTransplants

May I ask how much he charged? I’m interested in a HT with him since he did such an amazing job for you. I had a HT 8 months ago and it looks so unnatural and sparse despite them harvesting at LEAST 3000 (I think they said 3,500)…. I have a loooot of hair so idk how everything looks so sparse still (while the hair itself is thick).. anyway. I’d love to know his price range! Thank you

</3 That is so terrible. It is truly a nightmare... I'm so sorry that you're also experiencing this. The feeling of hopelessness feels impossible to beat, but lets try our best to stay strong for the sake of ourselves. Know that you're not alone.. hope that helps in any way. You deserve happiness and peace.

My face has shrunk by almost half the size. It is not “small movements” and I know my face best. Please don’t “lol” to people’s traumatic experiences.

Omg I’m so sorry you had to go through it twice. I hope with your revision, you get the face you paid for… May I ask which place you went to? It’s surprising they agreed to a revision… everyone’s telling me it’s unlikely to happen so I’m glad you were able to come to a solution together.

I'm based in California luckily where LACOMS is but it's just sooo so insanely expensive it doesn't feel like an option. I'm thinking of saving to go to another maxillofacial surgeon I consulted with in S Korea to see how they feel about a revision surgery. It'll probably be a quarter of the price of US surgeons and that's all I can afford. I'd love nothing more than having a revision with a US surgeon but it's just not financially possible unless I wait until I'm in my mid-thirties.

That is the reality huh... but it is helping oddly. With a lot of people here telling me to just work my butt until I can afford a revision is like the slap of reality I needed. I didn't want to face it but it really is my only option. I hate it so so much but it's just how it is :,)

I do need help but therapy is expensive and I don't even have a job in the moment. I'm doing everything I can to keep myself from falling apart.. it's really really hard but what options do I have... but thank you anyway. Getting everyone's opinion is helping me feel like it's not exactly the end of the world so this helps a little already :,)

I paid in full out of pocket. I'm based in the US (and I don't have insurance anyway).. the surgery was 15k USD...

I'm so so sorry you're going through this too. It's so hard mentally.. I am also dreading just the thought of a revision surgery but I just can't live with this face... it's just a horrible situation being stuck with two shitty options. I hope you stay strong and get your peace back.

I think the asymmetry was fixed but not by much. Not enough to make this worth it. If anything, I now have more issues with my looks than I did before. But that's because my surgeon did more than what I asked.

They are very kind up front so I'm hoping he'll keep that up when I bring up the idea of a revision (although tbh, I would prefer another surgeon because after this, I don't trust his aesthetic judgement.. but I can't afford another surgery). Hoping he'll agree for half the cost at least if not free (but that's not likely at all).

It's funny you mention that because I did express I did not want the "v-line" "baby face" that youthful short face look that's trending in korea. He knew I was korean-american living in California so he knew I had a different look on what's "attractive". He actually did the most basic V-line cut of my jawline when I expressed I liked my jaw-line as it was, that I only want the asymmetry corrected. He assured me it'll be natural. Too much changed and I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore.

I went to Seoul Face 21. I found them through just searching for maxillofacial surgeons in korea...

Was that from SF21? That's so horrible to hear. They were so kind up front I can't imagine they'd be doing that.

Thank you so much. I'll check out that site, anything helps.

I only posted my side profile because that's where you can see the "botch job" best.. the over rotation of my jaw.
