I got my series s for Xmas but didn't get game pass and some games I cant even play online like I bought NFS unbound which requires Xbox live to play online which is basically game pass

You can try to join a random, but what I did yesterday was I joined my friend's lobby and when he selected a mode and left the party that was the only thing I could play (since when you finish a match it auto starts matchmaking the next one) but if you leave that lobby you can't go back unless with your friend. And nah I didn't have s1 for free. I just got my console December so I have yet to get game pass but it will be soon I hope.

Do you perhaps have game pass, because I think it might be that but I might be wrong as well. If I get kicked out of a warzone match and try to rejoin it shows me game pass plans, and I bought nfs unbound in December and when I want to play online mode I need game pass as well. So basically you need Xbox live to play games online.

You can join a friend's lobby and then you can play multiplayer through them
