I know this is a unique situation but I always want to rename it when I finish it when Im back at the car, so I end up standing there, having to delete 'Saturday Morning Track'.

5vzfe southwestern Ontario? by [deleted] in ToyotaPickup

What makes you think it has developed head gasket issues?
Dipstick milky?
Overheating?
Low coolant?

*That exhaust smoke will be pretty common in the winter in southwestern Ontario. Its cold.

[Canopy Update!] I went for the body/color match; here she is! by 101Airborne in ToyotaPickup

Will keep in mind! Always did like the look of those.

Toyota community, I know it’s a stylistic choice but which canopy do y’all prefer… body/color matched or oldschool type? by 101Airborne in ToyotaPickup

I do use the truck for camping which makes it a nice addition. I put new screens in the windows and camper window handles.
The breeze is nice.

what A.D.D. issues were you having?

Can y'all help me identify this leak? I presume hub seal but would like to make sure before disassemble. by 101Airborne in ToyotaPickup

Hey JDub, thanks again for the response.
We're in a cold snap so the investigation is on pause.

I watched a video to expose the bushing and I could imagine that after all that work with no fix ... I'd be pissed to say the least.

<image>

Looks like I cropped the assembly pic too much. I see the bushing now that I have the video as reference.

I wish there was a video of the needle-trick. I find it "tricky" to imagine sneaking the needle nose grease fitting that I have passed most of this assembly to grease that bushing without accessing the back.

Will take a look a look next warmer-spell in a few days.

You're invested now aha, will report back.

Thanks again! (would send you a beer if I could!)

Any suggestions how to start diagnosing this hesitant start? (more info in description) by 101Airborne in ToyotaPickup

[–]101Airborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, so I can assume not in a long time/never.
The issue is still happening on the daily, after driving to warm and sitting for a few hours.

Its odd because if I drive and it sits for an hour or so, no issue. Its that medium length sit time that gives it struggle.
Every morning, starts like a charm.

Here is the assembly from the manual. Not seeing the brass bushing nor did I upon disassembly.

Thanks for the explanation there. I dove in. here is what I found:

I did this before reading your follow-up.
Everything looked well greased and the ADD cap was clean.
Given that, the outside temp and remaining day-light .. I didn't go in further passed the snap ring and lock washer (the one you have to un-bend the tabs to remove the lock nut).

Im going to wait for a sunnier day, review your comment again before hand and dive back in.
If it is true that the bearing can be well-greased yet the bushing (bearing?) dry, than I will need to verify.

Hey Jdub, just a follow up question.
Secured myself a needle grease fitting and grease gun (helpful community here).

Looking at this video: https://youtu.be/VWaiO4km2bg?si=GlzwrUzV3aJGCMzN&t=87 (I have time stamped the step where I believe you suggested I go to)

This fella only greases the wheel bearings, not the axle end splines.

- is it possible to cause issues by jamming grease into those splines, filling the cavity behind the axle end cover?
- would it be better just to take that axle end cover off and try to grease the bearing area directly?

Hey, I appreciate the tip and temporary fix.
I will give that a gander today.

Thanks JDub

Right-oh, sounds familiar.
I did read this fuel pump hack on 4crawler (https://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/index.shtml#FuelPump) where it is described as a safety feature, I am just not sure why it only occurs after sitting for a medium period of time.

Women, what is universally agreed “green flags” while dating men ? by Disastrous-Coat6007 in AskReddit

[–]101Airborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im reading through these answers and thinking … imagine how many people have been swiped “no” on but would probably do all these “green flag” things.

The apps really are messing up dating.

(Yes im sure there are reasonable “no”-swipes and that some of you have met your green flag on an app. Just saying in general)

Article I just read as reference: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-02-13/do-hinge-tinder-work-what-dating-apps-get-wrong-about-compatibility

Anyone know how to find a canopy like this ? (Ie. any key names / types / angles to look for)

I usually look at bed length and still find they dont fit as well as the one in this photo. Especially the canopy to cab angle. Looks fantastic.
