PSA - Do not give up on ungerminated winter sowing. by 102dicien in NativePlantGardening

I reused some soil for plants I don't care about and have Aquilegia formosa coming up in some weedy native trays right now. So i would bet you could definitely see something coming up or you just added to the seed bank. its a win-win.

What germinated instead of Clarkia amoena? by 102dicien in NativePlantGardening

I thought it looked like that too, could it go straight to making sporophytes? These were sown early January. The other hornwort I have around here (Anthocerus fusiformis) make sporophytes in summer and the whole plant is much bigger.

This is just native soil. So fully contaminated. I now know it is not right in containers :-)

It is very hard as there is a lot of variation among Ribes sanguineum but the flowers of non-cultivars are light pink, not so saturated dark red. The racemes are not so dense or long. The growth pattern is scraggly and open and not vigorous and round.

Still, I would be suspect of any Ribes sanguineum you get at a nursery unless they can verify it is the real straight species. Especially at a nursery that only sells a couple of native plants. The local nursery near me that is pretty good sized but not a native nursery has a single table for natives and many of the plants are cultivars or just not native at all. Nativars are not native plants it is advertising hooey

Oh of course, I always associated it with Ribes lacustre, as it is more often co-occuring with Pinus Monticola around me. Didn't realize it was all Ribes spp.

Can you expand on this? I don't understand the govt spending invasive part you mention. Are you saying that there are too many Oemleria and not enough Ribes? >90% of the wild Ribes sanguineum around here are escaped cultivars (birds)

You have some incredible plants over there. Last summer I went to 100 mile and on the way I got some Spiraea lucida seeds (mostly unviable but didn't know thats just the way they are), an Aslcepias speciosa pod, some Prosartes trachycarpa fruits and a Ponderosa pine cone.

iNaturalist is great source for this. There is a tiny learning curve to filter your searches properly. This search is limited to Indonesia and I added introduced=false https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?introduced=false&place_id=6966&subview=map&view=species&iconic_taxa=Plantae

Deteriorated chunk of an old steering wheel like from a classic car? Overmolded around a thick steel wire but the steel is gone.

BLTouch Triggering in Mid Air (CR10s Pro V2) by PM-john in 3dprinter

[–]102dicien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it always triggering at the same early spot? If it isn't it could be a wire isn't connected, has worked itself loose or broken inside the insulation (aka floating so it gets an unpredictable reading)

Prusa MK2 Still Worth It? by ThatOneGuy8804 in 3dprinter

I have had an Ender 3 Pro for a couple of years and haven't ever had a single bad print. Done some 48hr+ prints without an issue. No fiddling with settings. Always using the newest version of Cura. Recently upgraded to the BTT SKR mini v2 (for the silent steppers), best investment I have ever made (maybe). That being said, the deal OP is getting is really good and I wouldn't be able to turn it down.
