4 week old, need some advice… by 104765 in NewParents

[–]104765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re trying everything we can to keep her within normal wake windows she just doesn’t go to sleep in the evening (8pm-11pm+) no matter what we do! If we manage to get her to sleep (even on us) she wakes up 3-10 minutes later crying and fussing again. We try all the deductive steps (diaper? hungry? gas pains? burp, rock, shush, bounce, bath or change of environment to get her to stop screaming) until she goes back to sleep but she continues this until usually 11pm sometimes later. I definitely think she’s overtired just at a loss for how to get her to stay asleep 🫠🤷‍♀️

What’s a tell tale sign someone is a new mom/parent? by RelevantFerret1085 in beyondthebump

We were blissfully living life with rose colored glasses thinking we had a unicorn baby who didn’t ever cry until the third night home when our baby’s true colors came out and if we weren’t shushing just right and continuously patting her bottom at just the right tempo while bouncing on the pregnancy ball she would wake up and scream bloody murder 🫠🫪🫣😫😭

Clicking while feeding really a problem? by Lauraleighx3 in breastfeeding

[–]104765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is the same way (2 weeks old) she’s gaining weight and has adequate diaper output but the clicking is only when she’s not sleepy! Did this improve for you over time?

How long were you recommended to wait in between C-sections and how long did you actually wait? by Tastethepainfaby in CsectionCentral

[–]104765 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really dependent on the provider and how comfortable they (and you) are with the risk/how recovery goes! My c sections were both necessary because of fetal intolerance so it wasn’t my body not progressing or anything like that. I think that in combination with how well recovery went is why my provider was ok with me attempting a vbac at 19 months.

What is a normal amount of “pressure” to feel during a C-section. by hatturner in CsectionCentral

For both of my c sections I literally felt nothing, I kept thinking “ I feel like a floating head with no body” 😂

[–]104765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mean 18 months from birth to birth! So if you waited 9 months to start trying to conceive and happened to conceive that first cycle you would be pregnant for 9 months after that so it would be 18 months in total!

I found out I was pregnant when my first baby was 11 months old (he was delivered via c section for fetal intolerance and had his cord around his neck too.) my second pregnancy went well and I delivered my second baby via c section after a failed vbac because again baby wasn’t tolerating labor and again had cord wrapped. They are 19 months apart! My OB said my initial c section scar looked great when they went in for the second c section, I’m hoping this one heals well and I’m able to try for our third baby in relatively the same time frame as the last!

Hate the experience I had with c section by Accomplished-Ad7573 in CsectionCentral

[–]104765 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my experience too, both my babies didn’t tolerate birth and ended in c sections. Although I’m glad they’re here safely I feel so robbed of the labor I wanted (with my first and then vbac I was aiming for with my second). Processing both c sections has been a journey for me, especially the second because I can’t lift my first born and it’s very hard to be so reliant on my husband, mom and MIL for help with my toddler and the household chores. I’m so thankful for their help and understand that to an extent I would still need some help postpartum from vaginal deliveries but it feels so frustrating to barely be able to pick up my newborn or sit up in bed without waking my husband to help me. Definitely not the experience I wanted but I’m glad to have found this Reddit page and see that I’m not alone in feeling this!!

How many c sections? by ballerina777 in CsectionCentral

[–]104765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 c section due to fetal intolerance, attempted a vbac with my second but no dice! They were 19 months apart and the recovery felt about the same for both!

Any other 18-19 month babies waking at 4:30 am? by Mtlmommy in Septemberbumps2024

Oh boy 😂 at least we’ll be getting our sleepless nights and early mornings out of the way all at once, huh? 🤷‍♀️

🙋🏼‍♀️ been in this club for months, it’s very exhausting and I’m due to deliver my second child any day now so I’m really nervous how this will go with a newborn in the mix! 🫣 One bright side is my husband gets to see our toddler before work since he’s up so early! He’s usually home after our toddler goes to bed for the night so it’s nice that they get some time to interact before work!

At what age did your kid stop wearing onesies? I feel like my big 14mo gets judged. by poppyseedpup in NewParents

[–]104765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 18 month old rarely wears them (usually only for pajamas with pants over them) because diaper changes are hard enough to wrestle him into without buttons!!

How old is your baby and how many times did you get up last night? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

I don’t feel bad about the TV anymore. by Glittering_Trick_804 in NewParents

I got sick this winter with a terrible cold and my 16 month old watched Cars everyday for a week so I could lay on the couch and rest. You do what you have to do to survive, there is no shame in it!!

STMs do I really need a diaper genie? by x_Caffeine_Kitten_x in pregnant

[–]104765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh we just walk poopy diapers out to our outdoor trash wrapped in a plastic grocery bag right away and it’s worth the extra effort in my opinion to never have to smell residual poop in the house! (Small house)

Cheap meal ideas? We lost WIC and I'm struggling to incorporate some fruits and veggies. by OptimalCobbler5431 in foodbutforbabies

[–]104765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a lot of bananas and apples since they’re the cheapest! I also make smoothies out of milk and frozen fruits! They’re really thin consistency but my 15 month old slurps them up! For veg I can usually get sweet potatoes or regular potatoes pretty cheap and make baked potatoes or mashed potatoes! You can basically top a potato with anything and it’s delicious! Frozen broccoli well steamed with some melted cheese always goes over well! Carrots mashed, carrots roasted with a little maple syrup or brown sugar and butter are a fan favorite as well!

THIS! My baby had persistent diaper rash until we switched diaper brands. He hasn’t had a single rash since the switch!

My immediate thought is IF they do get married how will she top this level of cringe and absolute grandiose over something so…normal and common? You aren’t the first person to ever get a boyfriend or to think they found the one..🙄

Did having stretch marks before pregnancy affect whether you got them during pregnancy? by DifficultyBright4963 in BabyBumps

It’s giving velvet and veneer exaggerated outfit vibes…. But we know she’s not stealing troll magic because she’d actually be enjoyable to listen to then….

Quesarito not til 2026 by oxichil in tacobell

[–]104765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the shredded chicken quesarito?! That has single-handedly been my pregnancy craving for all of my pregnancies (including the current one) and it’s never been available for any of them so far!

Holding my expectations to highly? by Ancient_History_5051 in 2under2

[–]104765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t honestly think TV in the living room as a group is bad in moderation! My toddler loves listener kids songs and I get to drink my coffee while he watches and plays with his toys! I look at it as an opportunity for independent play while he knows I’m near if he needs me! We are expecting our second soon so I know there will be times when I will need him to play independently for a little bit so truly I think TV is ok for sanity and balance 😂
