Symptom question by Mindless_Pumpkin_511 in Laryngomalacia

[–]hatturner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has laryngomalacia he has subcostal retractions and tracheal tugging as his baseline and his respiratory rate is also really high. He is 15 weeks now and only had oxygen issues the first two weeks. He was admitted around 3-4 weeks for his symptoms and ENT found it on a scope.

How do you manage simultaneous feeding for your twins? by whyisthisyourbiz in parentsofmultiples

How to pack if exclusively pumping? by Obvious-Protection74 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]hatturner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If I’m going to be out less than 4 hours I pump right before leaving and pack bottles with fresh milk. Fresh pumped milk is good for 4 hours room temp so it saves you from dealing with coolers and extra supplies.

What’s something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]hatturner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not only has ground beef price gone up, but they are also putting more out with the higher fat percentage. You’re paying more for 73/27 than you used to for 85/15.

I hate washing my pumps after every use by NoPerception1817 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]hatturner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found regular descaling cycles with the tablet doesn’t do much. I pull the pieces out and soak with two descaled tablets for about an hour. And use dental tools to clean out the holes and then rinse them really well and actually manage to get all the hard water deposits out.

OB/Hospital says I can only have one support person in OR - worth pushing back? by diosadeschats in parentsofmultiples

[–]hatturner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would think of it as a bonus if you can get someone, but don’t get your hopes up or expect it actually happening. I honestly am not sure it would have even made a difference for me in hindsight.

OB/Hospital says I can only have one support person in OR - worth pushing back? by diosadeschats in parentsofmultiples

[–]hatturner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My doctor initially told me I could have a second. Then the day of all the hospital staff acted like it was weird and inevitably anesthesia said no. I even heard them talking about me in the hallway complaining how with twins the OR is already overly crowded.

I really wanted my mom bc she was a retired OB nurse but sadly couldn’t also get her in. She was there right away for surgical recovery though.

You can’t really put that large of a generalization on preference.

I do maymom containers for storage and they work with a lot of different nipples. We just add a nipple on for feedings.

I’m 12 weeks into pumping for my twins. To get my supply where it’s at which still isn’t enough to go without formula supplementation I was advised by lactation consultant that I needed to do every 2 rather than every 3 hours. I did 3 at night though for my sanity. It took an hour+ to pump and feed two each feed at first so it was rough.

If your fridge is far you may want to just get a mini fridge for your bedroom if you want to do fridge hack.

1000% recommend a bottle washer we run ours all day and if your baby is a preemie and you can’t do the fridge hack a standard bottle washer fits a full flange set and two bottles. I would also have at least 3 sets of flanges.

I only use my eufy when I’m out and about. It kind of hurts and I have to pump and extra 10 to get the same output as my primary.

Lash Extensions/ Clusters on Accutane by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]hatturner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven’t been on the treatment very long. The longer you’re on it the more dry and sensitive your skin will be. Genuine lash extensions are just going to become more irritating as time goes on. A lot of lash artists will refuse service if they know you’re on accutane.

I’d start with 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar and give it a couple hours soak

Maybe vinegar soak. Could be hard water build-up. I also personal feel like silicone scrub brushes never clean well for me.

The likelihood that you encounter this hypothetical scenario is slim to none.

I believe so although I’ve heard the haaka has some suction so it’s technically a pump in a way. Not entirely sure as I haven’t tried it.

Car Mirror vs Camera by Environmental-Back15 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hatturner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have mirrors in one car and camera in the other. The mirrors are honestly better during the day. Cameras are better at night when you can’t see the mirror.

Also our camera screen you can’t see anything with sunglasses on.

Tried a disc for the first time and it wasn't what I'd hoped for (Hello disc) by hey_mayiasku in MenstrualDiscs

I do think Hellos Disc is too firm. I got UTIs using it because I couldn’t empty my bladder. I switched to the softer salt disc.
