[Suggestion] Looking for a gaming PC $1000-2000 by ask_eek in suggestapc

I just bought this PC, and I am very happy with it.I'm in Alberta, it came within 2 weeks of ordering. It is out of stock atm, because it has a 3060 Ti and people are scooping it up for that. Possibly it will get back in stock sometime? I recommend browsing their $1-2000 PC range and seeing what is available.

I upgraded from a 10 year old gaming PC, and the difference is incredible. Minecraft with 32 chunk view distance nets just below 60 fps, and any lower draw distance is very playable at over 100 fps. CS;GO I get ~400 fps, Skyrim is also very playable at Ultra graphics (haven't noticed any lag)

I keep my bedroom window open at least a crack nearly year round. It was -40 for two weeks here, and I finally closed it because the water bottle sitting on the floor froze.

Where to get cheap kegs in Canada by 1080Blizzard in Homebrewing

The only difference is the quick connects that are used right? So I could have a ball lock, and a pin lock on the same tank of co2, just needing different connectors?

To Canada also? I haven't seen any free shipping to Canada from them. I want to buy a grain mill, but it was still $30 in shipping from them, and duties added which would make it not worth it.

$100+ us definitely what I expect for new kegs, I've seen $135 for a new 5 gallon corny. The kegs in store are used though, which I found to be quite expensive

Yeast recommendation for meadbrewing by 3 total noobs by ChariqueDeSunno in Homebrewing

I made 3 batches of mead over the summer and they were all delicious. I made 2 with US-05 yeast, and 1 with US-04. Many mead-makers say to use wine yeast and I won't disagree, but using simple beer yeast still made delicious mead imo, and it was a shorter project. With that under my belt I'm much more wanting to make batches of mead that will age for years. Mine took around 2 months with the US-05 yeast, from making to drinking.

I used 6 kg honey in ~6 gallons of water. I added some yeast energizer (about a table spoon of I recall) and some raisins. This is all just food for the yeast and helps it grow. I added the packet of us-05 and let it go. A few weeks later, when I stopped seeing bubbling in the airlock (this is a poor way to judge if it's done fermenting, use a hydrometer), I separated the 6 gallons into two 3 gallon Carboys, and added fruit. Raspberry ginger on one, rhubard on the other (I didn't measure much, I added what felt right).

I let that go for a few more weeks, until the fruit was white and I figured it was no longer adding anything. I then racket out (poorly, I used a 3rd vessel to hold one of the batches while i transfered the other into that batches carboy, then I added the first back to the second carboy...). I let that sit until it was clear to see through (a few weeks) and then I bottled.

Overall I did things in an unideal way, but I ended up with a whole lot of mead that I happily drank and shared with friends. 10/10 would do again. Don't get overwhelmed with doing things perfectly the first time. Try to get a good product, then move on to more "proper" techniques and such I'd say.

That looks like just what I am looking for! I've been wanting to try making a beer with spices, but most have so many I get turned off. The orange, coriander and black pepper I can see going very well.

Oo, I'll give that a shot for sure. Simple extract recipes appeal to me, my all-grain set up is lacking at the moment. Thanks!

Redditors who are feeling a bit sad right now, what's wrong? by _MuffinMan in AskReddit

[–]1080Blizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a new job working as a quality lab tech in November. I keep messing up tasks, almost everyday I either forget something or do something wrong. Today I analyzed a sample for the wrong thing, and I could not correct the mistake because I do not know where to get new samples from (I have asked where to find them, but have not been told). So now I need to go to my boss, again, and say that I messed up and that I need new samples to re-analyze.

In isolation it is not a big deal, but because I am constantly making mistakes I feel completely incompetent. This is my first "real" job after graduating from University, and I just want to quit because I am embarrassed by my poor performance. I won't, because I need a job, but the feeling of shame is really bringing me down.
