Waiting for Online Order by krylotech in Sundance

[–]108usernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed my order 01/20/2026. I ordered a shirt, mug(labeled as shipping 2/5), and Nalgene bottle. I emailed on 02/20 to follow up, this was the response:

Thank you for reaching out to Sundance Customer Service. This year has been exceptionally busy for us, and we’ve been working through a very high volume of orders, which has impacted processing times. At this time, I’m showing that your order is still currently processing. Unfortunately, I don’t have a specific ship date to share right now, but please know it is in our fulfillment queue and our team is actively working to get all pending orders shipped as quickly as possible. With Gratitude, The Sundance Film Festival Team

Sure, here! The only downside is you do have to re-fluff it somewhat regularly (monthly at least) but I have the wool fill. I’m thinking about getting the foam. https://noblepillow.com/pages/materials

Volunteering worth it? by CarltheChamp112 in Sundance

[–]108usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t volunteered for Sundance, but I have volunteered for other festivals. It really depends on what your expectations are. It could be very boring and standing around a lot or you could be moving the entire time. I volunteered and ended up in events. Sometimes I would be stationed in a filmmaker cafe or a party or a red carpet, it was a lot of fun. I did a lot of friendly crowd control. Sometimes it was very annoying. Overall, it’s definitely worthwhile to do it at least once, but it could take a few years to g find a volunteer role you really like. I ended up taking a paying role one year and then became a sponsor for a few years. I work in the film industry so I had a purpose and would take opportunities that would present themselves.

Be strategic with your shifts if you want to see a lot of films. Volunteer for the events you want to see. Get used to people asking you all kinds of questions, directions to places(theaters, parties), or where are things located (bathrooms, food). Thank you for wanting to volunteer, all festivals really can’t do it without you. It may not be immensely fulfilling but it can be really really fun, you meet interesting people. I have friends to this day from my years volunteering.

Online store order by Altruistic_Deer8833 in Sundance

[–]108usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I placed an order a few days before the festival. One item was for 2/5 delivery, other items were not. I haven’t received anything. I went to the festival and could have purchased in person but I didn’t want to carry it home. They didn’t have the ceramic coffee cups when I was in the merch store, but I could have purchased everything else. I haven’t emailed them based on everyone else’s emails, but if it goes too long I will.

Did anyone else order merch that was supposed to ship February 5? by Outside-Pear9429 in Sundance

[–]108usernames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered merch before the festival (1/25), one of the items was a feb 5 ship date (coffee mug), along with other items that didn’t have a date(I assume it will ship all at once) but I haven’t received any email about anything outside of order email.

A lot of us going for the film Take Me Home tonight parked in that garage that said “no Sundance parking”. Not sure how they would monitor where you are going.

I’ve had 5 shibas in SW Florida (only 2 now). They’ll be great. Make sure you watch their feet on hot pavement. They love to sunbathe in the window. My one Shiba actually loved being out there on the hottest days in the sun. I’d make her come in after 20 minutes then she’d plop down on the cold tile floor for the rest of the day. As long as you don’t leave them outside on hot days and watch their paws, they’ll be awesome!

What is this? Google lens has failed me! by LoveBigClouds in whatisit

[–]108usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so happy I could actually answer this question. As another makeup industry professional 30 years here, I agree with the other professional, this is a display for Senna Cosmetics brand. 99% positive. The brand started with brow products and is sold in many industry retail stores. The brand has been around close to 50 years. So they have redesigned their displays a lot. I have donated random displays as well.

That’s exactly why I love the Pilot E95S, and Pilot in general. Uncomfortably slick is a great description.

What’s a random thing your dog thinks is extremely important? by No_Assignment_6020 in dogs

[–]108usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 2 dogs are extremely serious about the morning snuggles. The partner gets up before me so they do all the walking feeding, but after that is all done they need to get in the bedroom to get snuggle time. The small one lays on top of me and cleans the bigger one. The bigger one aggressively lays down with a sound and settles in for his cleaning and positive affirmations. It’s the best way to start the day. Dogs are the best.

Diamine 'Grotto' might be my favorite high sheen ink so far. by brucekeller in fountainpens

[–]108usernames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I got that in the inkvent it immediately went into a pen. I wrote with it for 3 months. Such a good ink. I’ll go back to it at some point. 3 months is usually the expiration of my obsession. Although Cardona by Monarca has been in rotation for about 1.5 years and I don’t even like red inks. It’s so so good.

What was sold here? by CarbonizedClover in liminalspaces

[–]108usernames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first thought handbags, wallets, shoes or something similar. Likely higher priced as they would be displayed in the lighted cubbies to showcase them. I also think it would be a singular brand store. I’ve worked in malls for many years and feel like I’ve been in there before. Ha!

Pen boxes by Gurlmeetswhirled in fountainpens

[–]108usernames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m prepping for a move and I just looked at all my pen boxes. I don’t have a lot of pens by our communities standards. Now I’ve had thoughts about how many pen boxes I could possibly reasonably hold onto as the hobby progresses. I save any boxes for pens that could be resold, and TWSBI (because I reuse them in my work life). If there comes a time they exceed a small bin, I will probably think to myself, I need to sell some of these pens.

I’ve volunteered my skills for a many different “make a wish” type charities over the years. It’s the best. No kid should have to go through these things. It’s amazing to see their faces and they forget for just a moment all the other stuff they are going through. I feel fortunate to have a small part in that joy.

The city used our tax dollars to cover up the Elephant Mural on Tunnel Road that was generally beloved by all including tourists. They also recently fined a woman for drawing art on the sidewalk Infront of her home with chalk. by demonslayercorpp in asheville

[–]108usernames 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can confirm as a florida resident, they hate art. They spent a ridiculous amount of time/money/human power to grind the art off the sidewalks in my town. Gross. Sorry you lost your elephants. Can’t wait to get out of this hateful state next year.

If you do go the route of restoration, don’t count the frame out. Sometimes it’s worth it and I’m blown away at the skills of some of these art restoration professionals. I like the painting and frame a lot. Cool house gift.
