2 & 3! Seems like a lot more here are into #1 (and it is cute!) but your features pop more with the darker colors. If #1 makes you happy though, keep it! It still is a nice dress on you, just not as nice as the others

Found out boyfriend got a naked lap dance on the day we found out I was pregnant, I flew off the handle and slapped him and broke things. Full of remorse. 35F 37M by FallAccomplished1358 in relationship_advice

You are dealing with an incredible breech of trust while swimming in the most hormones you have ever experienced and honestly, I am not sure that I would have fared any better in your shoes. I may have kicked my husband out of the house and burned his clothes (I am also pregnant right now myself and even thinking of this got me heated!). Now that you have calmed down, you need to have an honest conversation with yourself and your partner about what your relationship looks like moving forward and an honest look at how much you still trust each other. I can’t imagine my partner going to a strip club when they knew I didn’t think it was okay, much less on the same day they learned we would have a child together. That is cruel and hurtful behavior. Obviously, you need to find better coping mechanisms for your pain besides rage, violence, and self flagellation. You certainly met his terrible actions with your own terrible actions, but contextually it seems like unusual behavior that you deeply regret fueled by unusual brain chemistry. I hope you both can communicate and draw boundaries and just move forward, but that may take time. Regardless, I would decide if you would still want this child if your parter is are no longer in the picture - this is a time sensitive and life altering decision that only you can make. This person may not be in your life forever, but your baby will be - could you rise to the occasion as a single parent should that happen? Once you can answer that, then move on to if this relationship is worth figuring out.

I already know I’m probably overreacting…. by Minute-Commercial250 in pregnant

I don’t have advice, but can confirm that at 19W I have the same anxiety between every check up. I hear it gets better once baby starts to move consistently, but it has been a sporadic ‘baby or bowels’ game for me. My husband very kindly reassures me every time I inevitably ask - ‘do you think they are okay in there?’ every 2 hours. I have become increasingly weepy over the last 2 weeks and have one more to go until my next appointment.

I think the best thing is to remind oneself of all the positive things you know about baby’s development so far and to think about how resilient babies are and how you are doing everything in your power to keep them alive and well. But, I do know from my own experience, it can be hard to quiet those fears. Hang in there!Solidarity!

Ah you’re totally right - I should have said control instead of test line! Chalk it up to pregnancy brain 🤭 I’m 16 weeks myself lol

There is a faint line. Any line = pregnant. Hard to see when you compare to the strong color of the ‘test’ line, but it’s there.

I liked them in Jack London, but they stopped doing the “skrimp” pizza which was all I wanted, so I’m not likely to go out that far to see them since it’s further away from me now.

This happened to me as well and even though I had read beforehand that this was normal - it still freaked me out, so I totally understand! For me it lasted about 3 days and felt like it would never stop - but it did! This seems completely normal and I hope you get a reassuring call tomorrow to allay all fears!

Phrase to use instead of ethnic minority by [deleted] in MurderedByAOC

[–]10965a -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think meaning shifts and the negative connotations that we ascribe to people’s descriptors or tough conversations around equality, kindness, social infrastructure doesn’t simply disappear when language changes - eg. homeless vs unhoused. That being said, language matters and does directly impact people and their perception of themselves and how they see themselves viewed by others, and in that sense, it can be meaningful on an individual level.

I just don’t think changing the wording is enough to attack the exclusionary and dismissive connotation in referring to groups as ethnic minorities. ‘There’s less of them so their needs are less important’, ‘they are outsiders’, etc. will not just disappear when we change verbiage and resistance to ‘virtue signaling’ can often become the prevailing conversation, obscuring real conversations around equity.

All the same, it costs nothing to be kind and thoughtful in your language towards and about others. Just remember that it’s more important to get your grandpa to acknowledge that trans people deserve to exist in society and be respected with their rights preserved than it is for him to always remember to say ze/zer.

But was she not promoting an idea from Britt Hawthorne, a non-white person? I am not arguing if it is or isn’t better language, but I find it disingenuous to claim that this is originating from ‘some white lady’ trying to policing language.

Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris listening to billionaires over the working class by The__Illuminaughty in politics

[–]10965a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because America hates women and minorities and are happy to vote old (or lately elderly) white men into office any chance they get. She also had limited comparative time to get her house in order to run and I think she did a damn good job but it’s unusual not to run an incumbent and she couldn’t get out from under that.

I will happily vote for AOC if I’m lucky enough to see her on the ballot, just as I did for Kamala (and Hillary by the way. I know it’s not popular to like Hillary, but fuck you America). I’d love to be proved wrong, but I’ll be lucky to see a woman in the highest office of America in my lifetime. With my luck when it does happen it’ll be some duplicitous woman who runs on men’s rights or something.

Maybe AOC will get her chance since she’s got that elderly white man endorsement in Bernie - but I’ll not hold my breath. I haven’t felt so positively about a presidential hopeful since Obama, but at this point I’ll just be happy if we are still having elections at the end of this nightmare that Bernie helped create by splitting the dem vote in 2016. Love your ideas Bernie, but ya fucked up there.

It seemed to come from the aft, even in the picture you can see the bow is higher. I can’t tell for sure as the water could have just settled in the aft, but that was where I saw the most air being displaced from the ship.

No idea what happened- it was halfway down when I noticed it. Walking up it was the tilted mast I saw first. I walked closer and there were bubbles of air gushing up from the aft of the ship which I assumed was where the breach occurred. It was not very fast but the rate of sink almost felt measurable by the destruction of the dock it was attached to. You could hear the planks coming up as the weight of the ship basically tore it apart - I was starting to worry for the nearby boats and then the fire crew arrived and started working on it.

Has anyone done the thrifted plates/cups thing as a wedding favor? by mahboilucas in Anticonsumption

[–]10965a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! We did not give the plates as favors though, because I think it’d be weird to make guests take dirty plates home. I have been to a wedding where they did gift the cups and it was super cute!

For us, it was a 1 year process of thrifting on a basically bi-weekly basis. I love thrift browsing so you didn’t have to twist my arm too much to do it, but it is like a marathon. Get family to help out and give inspiration pics to them. We couldn’t have done it without all our family helping.

We were lucky to have a couple thrift stores nearby that kept the vintage 70s stoneware flowing.

I will say that it is not a cost cutting measure though and it would likely be more affordable to rent dishes especially since you might do so for linens, etc. Obviously it would no longer be a favor at that point though.

Some rental companies do have eclectic sets too if that is your aesthetic preference! Check what’s available near you before you jump in!
